Who is in Charge?

I would love to know who is in charge, city, county? of cleaning up the sides to some of the street's in Hattiesburg? The west 4th street is a disgrace. Use to be some of the apartments around 19th to that Church always looked terrible out in front. but, I guess the landlords ask them to please help keep the grounds around the apartments clean because they don' t look so bad now. BUT, on the right side of the street from I would say Westover until almost to the Dollar General Store is really TERIBLE. If I were able I would get out there and pick up all that mess myself, but,im not. and even if I were it would probably be back to the same old way the next day. I myself hate to see littler on the sided of roads, highway and in front of people yards. I guess that just one of my things. But, I sure hope one day that the city or county will do something about that mess. Well Im throught fussing now. LOL hope everyone has a safe and happy Day.:smt001

People that litter are just plain lazy. Instead of throwing it out the window, how hard would it be to wait until you got home and then throw it in the trash?

I "think" that is the responsibility of Lamar Co. I am pretty sure that is not in the city limits of the Burg...you can call the action line 545-4500 and tell them about it...they probably won't get anyone out to clean it up though even if it is in the city limits.

Past Weathersby RD. like going to the new entrance of the mall on 4th st is horrible and has been that way since I have lived in the burg. It really makes me mad when I see Lamar County inmates cleaning hwy 98 which is hburgs area that they wanted so bad they had to annex.now they dont even have anybody to clean it or bush hog it. Lamar County tax payers are housing those inmates they should stick to roads that are not in the city.

I road down 25th yesterday between 4th and hardy. That section was strewn with trash.
