I know I shouldn't, but I always find myself rooting for the bank robber.

Kind of strange but bank robberies have steadily increased the past couple of decades...........sort of like the Roaring Thirties.

You would think with all the sophisticated surveillance equipment and rapid communications, people wouldn't think they could get away with it (and very, very few do).................

Yea I saw the mayor at the crime scene on the way home from work. He looked very official in his flashing mayor mobile.

And no, bank robbers do not have to abide by the same rules as the rest of us. Heck, if he was in FL it probably wouldn't even be a crime if nobody was holding the money in their hand when he took it.

...because of this fact, IMHO, with technology the way it is today, and the almighty dollar in demand, banks aren't staffed as well as they used to be. With a very limited staff, the robber thinks he can get in and out with very little trouble.

They scope out the joint for a couple of weeks, see very little traffic in and out and then *BAM* goes for it.

Then thinks since that was so easy, he can go to another bank just down the street a week later. Stupid idiots, leave town if you don't want to get caught. Don't keep thieving in the same neighborhood!

Yeah, if you're gonna rob a bank you have to rob one outside your news coverage area. Plan a trip in one direction & let your friends & family know you're going. Then go a two or three states in another direction to rob the bank & have an accomplice go to your vacation destination & buy some stuff, eat dinner, etc. Keep all the parking stubs receipts etc. & give them to you for an alibi. wear a hat & dark glassed and stuff the insides of your cheeks with cotton to distort your facial features & the sound of your voice, and pad out your clothing to make you look fatter. Follow one of the clerks home one night & take some polaroids of their family & throw them on the counter & tell the clerk that if you get a die pack your accomplice will kill them............not that I've thought about it much.

OMG 58Ford!!!!! I use to teller at a bank that got robbed some years ago on Hardy Street and your little "plan" sounds alot like what our robber did.(except for the follow clerk home and take pics of family). They eventually found the robber in Fl. but he had robbed numerous banks in Ms, La, and Al.

I don't know why people commit crimes in their neighborhoods.

When I think about it, if you worked for yourself, you could easily just take a trip somewhere, kill some random person and come right back home. Who's going to know?

Grow out some facial hair, rob a bank near campus, grab a bike and pedal across campus, go into the bathroom and shave off the hair in a stall, change clothes, walk to your car parked across campus, drive home.
