Just wanted to introduce myself. I am an animal keeper at the Hattiesburg Zoo and am in school full time at USM. I've lived here in Hattiesburg for about 10 years now and have seen the many changes that have taken place over the years and are still taking place. Again I'm not new to Hattiesburg just to this community.

I have a good friend who wanted to be a zoo keeper when he was young. He was in the ministry for a while--I guess that was as close as he got...:-D

Welcome Uncle Skarr! Thanks for taking such great care of the animals at our zoo. I love going to visit and seeing them healthy and in a clean and spacious environment. I hope that you enjoy the site and our community here.

It's been about 45 years since I was at the Kamper Park Zoo. I 'spose it's changed some. I remember THE alligator and our newest resident everybody was so proud of...the buffalo. He was one laid back dude. We climbed the fence one night and petted him. Heh heh heh I never could pass up a dare. But, then again, I along with many of my friends am surprised I'm still alive.

Welcome! What a cool job you have. I'm jealous.
They have done a wonderful job with that zoo over the last few years. I can't wait to visit again this spring. It's a wonderful place to spend the afternoon with your kids.
