Now that Clemens falls into the same category as Bonds, we've got the era's top pitcher and top hitter possibly juicing. Does this mean we can just forget about tainted records now, since it appears both pitchers and hitters were using, wouldn't that offset the affects?

I still want to launch a Congressional investigation on why Congress launches these investigations.

I think Clemens is lying. Liar, liar, pants on fire!

Yeah, Clemens appears to be lying. I hate it but at least Nolan Ryan is clean. So far.

This is a waste of taxpayer money. If they are juicing, big deal, let them die early. If you must cheat to succedd and win, then you have truly lost the most in the end.

That's why I said, "No" above. It's not fair to those who did it right.

Don't they have some laws or legislation they could be working on? Who the heck cares if so and so pumped up with roids??? I don't if the dude wants his peepee to shrink and grow boobs then that is his business and I don't see where "congress" has to get involved. Write some damn legislation or something or step aside and let someone else that will actually work have the seat you are occupying in congress.

I know I have said this before, but this whole steroids thing makes me so sad and disappointed. I am a die-hard baseball fan. It's such a shame that so many players felt the need to juice up. :smt009

It's more than that. A lot more. As an enormous baseball fan, I can compare it to those who believe we, as Americans, are above torturing combatants. Same type thing, I'm thinking. Bud Selig should be tarred feathered and run out of the country for allowing this. The spineless sob. He knew it was going on and hasn't the cajones to challenge the players association. I really strongly dislike that miserable excuse for Corporate America, or perhaps that's exactly what all corporate America is about. They should never have elected a team owner as commissioner. This sort of thing that's going on right now was expected the day he was elected. He has corporate's back, not baseball's. And while I'm at it, Corporations, conglomerates should never have been allowed to own a baseball team. I'm madder'n hell about this whole thing.

You know that Bonds is kicked back in his chair laughing because, for now, the heat is off him. I think they all are liars. I take after my man Diogenes, I am walking the streets (not of Athens, but in my mind) in search of an honest man. Does he exist? Will he please step forward?

I couldn't care less about baseball players juicing. Hell, back in the eighties/nineties when I played, at least a quarter of my high school teammates were doing roids.
It wasn't because a MLB player was doing it, they just wanted to get bigger and stronger.
This whole thing has been a useless witch hunt.

The saddest part of this whole thing is not the "cheating" aspect, as I believe it takes much more than strength to be a great major league hitter or pitcher.....The fact that the players' association is willing to jeopardize the health of its members is the worst part....I think we will see the damage of their "hard-headedness" a decade or so down the road....Hell, we already see it with Jose Canseco that crazy bastard....
I believe the NFL has done a good job with their testing program, especially after seeing guys like Lyle Alzedo(sp?) whither up and die.....However, they don't do a good job with their retired players, but that's another topic for another day....

You know what's funny about all of this? Hell, Canseco is the one that looks like the only honest guy in baseball. Everybody he's named has been busted. Makes you wonder if his statement of "2/3 of MLB uses roids" might be true.

I doubt Bonds is laughing. He might very well do prison time.:smt023

For a guess, I don't doubt he's close on his estimate. But with a players association that is strong and a commissioner who has no backbone this is what happens. They won't allow blood tests.

No-Halo - you stop me for suspected DUI - I refuse the breathalyzer - what's the next step?
So what's the problem with Pro sports??:smt023
Yesterday as I watched Clemens testify before Congress, I couldn't help but think "WHY THE HELL DO WE CARE THIS MUCH!?" Yeah, I'd bet he was taking steroids, but I also have NO problem believing the stories about how the league turns a blind eye or even encourages players to use them-- or at least have done that in the past. Why ruin this guy's reputation over it? Does it matter that much? I don't give a damn if every player out there is "juiced," frankly, and I can't help but think that our Congress should be focusing its efforts on something a little more important than a witch hunt.

I hear that they will launch a Congressional investigation to determine if they need a pay raise because of all the investigations they do.......:decision::lolsign: ........on all the important things wrong in the world.

You're charged with the offense and its up to the judge to determine if you were actually DUI or not. I have to present all the evidence before him in court and he makes his decision after hearing from both sides.
