I was supposed to get a package from UPS yesterday, and I have this habit of checking the status of it using their tracking page.

On Feb. 12 the package arrived in Jackson. The day of the storm, which shouldn't have been an issue. Yesterday I checked the status and it said something like : "Exception. Package being held because of storm" or something like that. So I just thought traffic got held up because of the storm we had on Tuesday, and I expected to get it today.

Today I checked again, and it still had the same silly ass message about being held up because of the storm, so I called the shipper to see what the heck was going on. I told the lady who worked for the company I had ordered from what was going on and she said she'd check with UPS and call me back. About 30 minutes later she called and said she had UPS on the other line and they told her that it was storming in Jackson and the package was being held up.

I busted out laughing and told her that it was not storming in Jackson, that was on Tuesday and it wasn't that big of a deal of a storm, it only lasted about an hour or so. She asked how far away I was from Jackson, and I told her about 90 miles. So she relayed that to the UPS person who then changed her tune and said she'd check into it.

Now when I check the tracking it says, "Exception. See description below". When I check the description below it says,
"UPS Next Steps
We are searching for the package. A UPS driver will contact you if necessary.

Your Next Steps
You need to do nothing at this time. You can check the status of the claim online at any time. "

So it went from storming in Jackson to they've lost my frickin package. According to that page, they've been searching for the better part of the day.

Maybe they should just add a description like "One of our dock workers decided they liked the contents of the package and decided to keep it. We'll jerk your chain for awhile with BS excuses until you get exasperated enough to just re-order the merchandise and then hold up the refunds for a couple of months".

I've had to go the refund route with them before, and it's ridiculous.

Working for Walmart.com, there's no telling...

It's probably nothing. It takes a while for there system to update. Or they may have delivered it to Goat Hill, AL.

Those UPS guys are something else... FedEx is worse.

Sometimes, we'd track packages and they'd just stop somewhere and UPS would say they didn't know where it was. Or UPS would say something that was supposed to be delivered to Baton Rouge got delivered to Goat Hill, AL. Or, they say they'd left it at the front door, and the person didn't have a front door, or something. I know UPS delivered a neighbor's package to my door, right under my big numbers that say 123 when the address on the package said 678... y'know?

Good luck, and I hope it's nothing.

I never looked it up to see where it was. I always assumed it was some bumpkin place...

Anything that I've had delivered via UPS has always been on the scheduled delivery date...now sometimes it may be 5 pm, sometimes as late as 8 or 8:30 but always on the date. DHL/FedEx, theyve always managed to get it to the door nice and early. Only once have I had a problem out of DHL. The idiot that drives the S10 didnt want to load up my package because it was an odd sized box. So naturally I had to go to the office and pick the damn thing up myself.

We ship 10-15 packages a day from here and we rarely have any problems with UPS.
