Today's HA has a story (http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080216/NEWS01/802160302) about the science fair project of a Thames Elementary third grader that attracted the attention of officials at Forrest General Hospital.

Wow...
Now this is education at its finest! There is no way the NCLB act could even quantify, score, or tabulate this young mans education. Coupled with parents that foster a learning environment and the teachers who mold that piece of clay! Kudos to all involved and the Hattiesburg American for publishing a good story like this!

It is so good to see something other than gloom and doom or such on the front page. Congrats to the student and I wish him the best. :smt023
Ahem. I guess HPSD isn't all bad after all huh?

This little boy has a wonderful family--mother and grandmother are both excellent teachers who have instilled in him the value of knowledge and education from birth. I'm sure this is just the beginning for Gaylen.
