My husband and I will be relocating to the Hattiesburg area. Actually, we will be looking to rent a home within a 20 mile circle of Wiggins. We visited Hattiesburg the weekend of the 3" snow and we really enjoyed our stay. What rental rates can we expect for a three br two ba nice home in a nice area? Think we can find one?

Hi Arkiemom56. Welcome to the site. I would say that you should be able to find something, but the rent prices around here have gone through the roof since the hurricane. I would guess somewhere from $700.00 - $1,100.00 per month depending on the location... You might want to check out the hattiesburgamerican.com or the sunherald.com to start looking. Good luck! Please let us know if you have any other questions that we can help you with down here.

You also could maybe place an ad in the local paper of Wiggins for a place to rent. There maybe a house in the country that would be a lower price.

Hi! Welcome!!
Not sure what prices for rentals but with the interest rates so low you would get a better deal buying.

About a month ago I was looking with some friends for a 3 bdrm rental. In just a decent neighborhood we were looking at $1200... that seemed to be the average. Anything less than that- then it's probably in not the best neighborhood, a really old home, or something else is just wrong with the house. I agree with Noway, you can purchase cheaper than you can rent. Just depends if you want to go through that or not....
