"If I were the rain"

While searching for poetry about rain this morning, I found a teacher's blog. She had asked her students to write poems about the rain. Here are a couple of my favorites--hopefully it will stir some MH creativity...

If I were were thunder and lightning
I would roam around the world
Making storms
Feeling mighty
Standing proud
As an eight year old boy.
If I were the thunder and lightning
I'd give my teacher a nice

If I were the rain
I would make a trail for the lost
to find their way home again.

If I were the rain
I would seek those in need
and pass along showers of good deeds.

If I were the rain
I would flood all of the enemy lines
making our soldiers too hard to find.

If I were the rain
I would find those who are hurting
and wash away their pain.

If I were the rain
I fall upon a desert field
and watch the sweet life that it would yield.

If I were the rain
I would fall gently upon the entire Earth
then sit back and watch a cleansing rebirth.

These are the things that I would do
