The recipient of 7 Academy Award nominations, this movie is a full-throttle ride through the world of the highest-powered corporate law firms, the corporations they represent, and the powerful individuals one or more lawyers in these firms are always called upon to "fix", when things go horribly wrong.
The Awards will be handed out tonight, and Michael Clayton should capture at least two - one for Best Supporting Actor, and one for Screenplay. Best Picture is likely a long-shot, but it IS a film that is not for people whose minds tend to wander, or who want the formulaic answers handed to them on a platter.
I highly recommend this brilliant, compelling film.
George Clooney is in his element, perfectly matched to a perfect role for him that doesn't require getting wet or donning scrubs. He is simply amazing, as is the entire ensemble cast.
