Actually we are lucky to have some friends with seats that are going to be out of town and they knew I wanted to go since it was one of the last basketball games Boonie Blue #2 will ever cheer so they gave them to us!

It should be an exciting atmosphere, and while Southern Miss has upset ranked teams at The Green House in past years, achieving a win tomorrow will be a challenge.

Memphis has a really good team.

The crowd looked good.

They showed a fan sitting courtside being escorted out (ejected by the referee). What was that all about?

Kitty you missed Coach fedora at halftime.. He was at center court giving a speech and getting the crowd fired up.. I saw 2 ladies in the stands (looked alot like scarlett & pinky) drooling and screaming larry larry larry larry :smt102

The 3 fans on court side were saying to much to the refs and were escorted out of the coliesum..

The TV announcers kept suggesting there weren't enough law enforcement (three officers) on hand, particularly in light of the pre-game skirmish between Dorsey and Stone.

IMO, the announcers need to stick to announcing, and leave the policing in the capable hands of Chief Hopkins and his officers.

OK, I have relaxed a bit from a very exciting afternoon. RG was almost full... shame on the season ticket holders who didn't show up. All the bench seats were filled within 20 minutes of the doors opening but the seat backs... the domain of the season ticket holders... stayed about average for a men's game, perhaps 50% full. It wasn't until a bit before the tip that those seats were released to the crowd waiting and they couldn't quite fill them.

Really, now, couldn't the season ticket holders have shown up?

Memphis had a great turnout. Students had a great turnout.

The game was a loss for USM. But, with 8 minutes to go USM had the lead. They played VERY well and while I am sure they are disappointed in the loss, as a fan I can only say how proud I am of them and their effort. If folks showed up like that every home game we'd be undefeated at home... or maybe just this one loss to Memphis.

Yes, there was a little scrap on the floor before the game. Both teams were passing through the same narrow space, where I was as well. Somebody bumped somebody else, there was a lot of pushing and shoving and they all got separated. Didn't even knock my hat off.

This team is fun to watch, they play hard and often well. Come on out and see them play, you'll enjoy it!

Shoot. I hate they lost. I was watching UNC and BC and fell asleep with 7 minutes to go with UNC with a small lead. So I don't know who won. UNC is numero dos. I just threw that in to impress Onlyme with my cultural horizons.
