The Irish Italian Festival at St. Thomas Church will be this Saturday March 15th at 5:00. There will be food, beer and a silent auction. The silent auction is great with many items to bid on. There will also be music and an art show. The weather should be nice for the week end too.

Yes, St. Thomas is a Catholic Church.
Yes, you can have beer......and you don't have to be Irish or Catholic. This is a great event for anyone in the community.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year but I would definitely go if I didn't already have plans.

BrianinMs must not be native to the region if he's never heard of an Italian-Irish Festival. Check out St. Joseph's Day in New Orleans! Big deal. This part of Mississippi gets a lot of culture overflow from south Louisiana. I wish I had some of the coffee/ice-cream stuff this very moment.

I was born and raised in Upstate Ny and am Italian and Irish so you are correct. Southerns always seem to come up with a reason to party. However, I do find it a little odd that it is during Lent.

Not Southerners, New Orleanians! They get bored going so long from Mardi Gras to Easter, so they have to do a big shindig for St. Joseph's Day and St. Patrick's Day. Lots and lots of Irish down there, btw. (And apparently there is a kerfuffel in some cities because of St. Paddy's Day falling during Holy Week for the first time in 140 years; that's why a lot of the parades were moved to the 15th.)

Yes, on 4th St. across from the campus. I'm sure there are signs up directing you to the festivities.

I've thought about going, and taking the kids, but I just don't want to fight my way through crowds so they can see everything. Not to mention the fact that we've got some MAJOR packing to do today! :(

He wont admit it, but the Pirate came in the top 30 of over 300 racers and the top 6 (I think) in his age group. My old friend did good.
