Hi, just looking to find out about the Hattiesburg area; Petal to be specific. We moved to the Mobile area from Texas the end of August and I'm not really satisfied here. We're looking to find family oriented people with the same values and goals for their children as we do and it's really tough here! There isnt a YMCA or fitness clubs in the area that we live and havent found any "womens social clubs" either. Since my husband is gone 1/2 the time finding other woman to socialize with is important as well as activities for my kids to participate in. I have found that not only are the women I've met thus far here are undesireable and no common ground, but the kids are not kids that I want my kids to be associated with. I want to be moved by the next school year and we'll be looking to rent a home in the Petal area. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. I hope that I dont sound too much like a snob, but my husband and I have high expectations for our kids education and we want to raise them in an area and around people that appreciates the need for schooling and good manners!

I look forward to moving there and hopefully making some friends thru the forum before then. Look forward to getting to know some of you.

I moved to Petal 11 years ago and loved it. The people are the friendliest, nicest, and most helpful I have ever seen in any other place I have lived (and that is many)
