While searching for gas buddy, I ran across this and see it is for sale. I have not looked at it to see if it is doable or practical.

Some one let me know.

I am all for not paying these high prices.

I see that it is reversible. Needs plain old tap water along with gas--supplemental.

I don't think using your car battery is an efficient way to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen in the amounts neccessary to run your car.

This has been around for a long time. Back in the 80s some hotrodders were adding very high temperature water vapor (not steam) injectors to boost horsepower (not fuel economy) but it never really caught on, possibly because I think it will only work with a carburetor and few cars have carburetors anymore. You can also inject water into a turbo charger to cool the fuel mix, but in this case it only allows for higher mix compression & the water isn't actually burning.
If this system is using heat to separate the Hydrogen & Oxygen then yeah it'll work, but if they are electrolytically separating the gasses, whatever material they are using in their electrodes is going to bond with some of the oxygen and they're gonna get some kind of anodic discharge into the cylinders & that's gonna start screwin' the pooch, not to mention what it's gonna do to the catalytic converter. Unless they have figured out a way around these problems. I guess they might have something here, but I'd need a thorough explanation before I'd spend money on it.

I don't know anything about it except it's $50 and 90 pages with a 56 day return.

It would take me that long to read the 90 pages and find someone to do it.

I called my mechanic and he said he'd look at the website--hadn't heard of it.

I do know water in the gas tank is not a good thing. A gas station in my hometown messed up some cars because of high water content in their gas a few years back.
