:smt118:smt118I have a foot thing going on... My dang foot hurts like crazzy and goes numb. I'm pretty sure it is a "morton's neuroma"..........which requires surgery and down-time. I had a shot into the joint and it did not help at all, I can live with this but I had rather not...anybody had this??????

That's ok, I got a 12 inch problem myself. Just message it and it'll eventually go away.

My left foot has been killing me for a couple of weeks now. Probably because my shoes are about two years old and the left shoe is so worn that I walk a bit on the side of my foot. Maybe it's time for new shoes this weekend.

I hope your foot gets to feeling better.
I HATE wearing shoes. Try going and walking on the sandy beach and see if it doesn't feel better?

OK....I was trying to be silly !!!
But, I really do have a Morton's Neuroma and was just wondering if anyone here has had the surgery for it. It is an inflamed nerve which is usually located between your 2nd and 3rd toe or 3rd and 4th...It really is quite painful.

I'm sorry about your foot....bBunnie. I understand the 'nerve' thingy.
I aggravated my sciatic nerve three weeks ago and my left leg and
foot have given me absolute 'fits' since then. I had to limp and drag
my foot for over a week till I could just limp and then start to 'walk' on
that foot. My left big toe has turned blue because the nerve has cut
the blood flow down. I can soak the leg in warm water and the color
comes back to the toe. If I walk too much the leg tingles and tries to
go to 'sleep'.
I don't have back problems but I now have a new appreciation for folks
that do and have sciatic issues.
I never knew a dang nerve could do SO much in the way of pain and
misery... And cause long lived problems. I'm told mine may heal or go
away after 8 weeks or so and I'm sorry yours may require surgery.
All I know right now is that I will be very careful NOT to ever, ever do
anythng that could remotely aggravate this NERVE in my butt again....

Thanks BB and I hope you get better soon!!
This thing started at the beginning of the year. Either I have gotten accustomed to the pain or I just tend not to do things I know will aggravate it. In the beginning, I couldn't run, take stairs in my usual way, or stretch on my toes. It felt like stepping on shards of glass.
I think the surgery is relatively minor in the sense that surgery can be. In my opinion anytime you are put under there is always a chance , well you know. I think the doc just goes in and clips the nerve and your pain is eventually gone after a recoup time.

I had the cortisone injection and it didn't help. Can yours be helped with injections at a "Pain Center"?

Pour gunpowder between your toes and then light it. That will cure the itch....go see a doctor about the burn though.:-D

KY jelly is another way to fix a 12 inch problem. It at least makes it easier to handle to the problem.
