Okay. Everybody (well most) had their fun. But SoMissTV doesn't like to be picked at - - so I'm locking this thread and throwing away the key. Save's the majority from getting groaned at anyway.

Please do not joke about or make fun of SoMissTV. He has a history of reporting the posts considering them a personal attack. Further jokes about SoMissTV will be responded to with a personal warning, then infraction points.

Maybe we should just post a Wiki about what can or can not be said about SoMissTV. Or better yet, maybe we should just remember to not make any reference about him, even implied. Kinda hard to keep up with what is kosher or not.
This can get me banned, kicked off as a moderator, infracted, whatever. But I, like many, are getting kinda tired of trying to figure it out.
Have a good day.

I agree, its ironic that SMT sure can dish it out ... but yet when anything is said about him/her they go running to the administrator.

Oh, no - I'm sure any play on names will get you in trouble too. But you'd have to check with someone else though.

amanda
04-07-2008, 06:24 PM
No, can't do "bless 'is heart" either. Even YOU in an implied manner that he would construe to be about HIM would be grounds for "picking at" and get you an infraction.

I feel sorry for SoMiss.
Think about it, after this thread if he ever insults someone again he's gonna get trashed. Not to mention the buttload of complaints Aaron's let himself in for.

Yes, if a person jokes about you and you believe it to be a personal attack, then you can report it. And that's probably the best course of action, instead of continuing with this thread. If someone does not want you to joke with them, then just don't. I have friends and family that do not like to be joked about, and they understand they shouldn't joke about others.

Friends and family are people you KNOW. This is a MESSAGE board. If you don't have a thick skin and can't take the heat - then it's best to leave the kitchen. If SOMEONE can't take a joke or takes it personally - I have an idea - they can SPEAK up about it rather than be whinny and report it like a child. However, a majority of us have SOME sense of humor. How many times has CB taken ribs for having a fondness for farm animals and being a general pervert? He takes it with a grain of salt and plays along - he doesn't run to momma crying because "everyone is being mean to me". We are suppose to be adults here. If "he" doesn't like it - then I have a suggestion -
Don't let the door nob hit you on the way out the door.
Good night all. I've had about much fun as I can stand for a day.

Who wants to be the constant a$$-end of a joke, pray tell? There is "joke" and there is "satire" and then, there is "tongue-in-cheek" ball-bustin' disguised as a joke. Sometimes, some folk, can't tell the difference.
I recall being on the playground once, in Third Grade and . . . well. THAT brings up painful memories for me. It was a "joke", they all said. Well. When I got home and Momma whipped my butt for my stupid dress being dirty, she didn't see the humor in it, get me? Do you? Do you, punk?

In my experience, when someone gets upset at a little joking, it's usually hitting a bit close to home. Maybe they didn't know that the person they were joking with was accused of doing the things they were making fun of, and didn't know they'd take it so personally.

QUESTION for AARON or the MODS:
Since the initial post that started this thread is gone....why can't we just lock this thread? Many people who are coming on for the first time don't understand what happened....and I think that is mostly because the first post (by mi nombre es) has been removed. I am assuming it was removed because SMTV reported it, but I am not sure.
It just seems silly to keep having a discussion about a thread when the post that started it isn't even visible anymore.
