Tomorrow. 4/11/2008.

I understand the Oak Grove - HHS baseball game that was scheduled for tomorrow night has been changed to tonight in order to avoid the rain.

College will do that to you, CB. ;)

The current radar indicates the most severe weather will be to the north of our area, but conditions can change.

I guess if we are going to have bad weather - I would prefer it be tomorrow, as Mrs DY is flying home today.

But the bad weather does provide a great excuse NOT to go shopping tomorrow - come to think of it, I won't even need a good book to curl up with - Mrs DY will be home!;)

The best source of accurate up to date information is the Jackson National Weather Service website located at http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jan .

Sorry for the CAPS but this is a cut and paste from NWS .....

A POWERFUL SPRING STORM SYSTEM MOVING SLOWLY EASTWARD INTO THE REGION
WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE ARKLAMISS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. COMBINATIONS OF WIND SHEAR...INSTABILITY
AND ATMOSPHERIC LIFT WILL BE HIGHEST THROUGH TONIGHT ALONG AND
NORTHWEST OF A EUPORA...TO YAZOO CITY...TO WINNSBORO LINE AND SEVERE
STORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND TORNADOES
WILL BE MOST LIKELY THERE. THE HIGHEST RISK OF EXPERIENCING SEVERE
SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS...INCLUDING ASSOCIATED STRONG
TORNADOES...WILL EXIST THROUGH THIS EVENING NORTHWEST OF A
GRENADA...TO ROLLING FORK...TO BASTROP LINE. THUNDERSTORMS COULD
EVENTUALLY BUILD INTO SOUTHEAST SECTIONS OF MISSISSIPPI EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING...BUT ANY SEVERE STORMS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ISOLATED AND
MAINLY ONLY CONTAIN A RISK OF LARGE HAIL AND HIGH WINDS.

IN ADDITION TO THE POSSIBILITY FOR SEVERE WEATHER...SOUTH WINDS WILL
CONTINUE TO BE GUSTY...ESPECIALLY THIS EVENING. EXPECT SUSTAINED
WINDS BETWEEN 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH AT TIMES. LAKE
WIND ADVISORIES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF THE AREA THROUGH AT
LEAST A PORTION OF THE EVENING. PLEASE SEE THE ASSOCIATED LAKE WIND
ADVISORY FOR DETAILS.

FOR FRIDAY...ALTHOUGH THE CENTER OF THE POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM WILL
REMAIN NORTH OF THE ARKLAMISS...THE FEATURE IS STILL EXPECTED TO
AFFECT THE REGION THROUGH THE DAY AND EVEN INTO THE EVENING IN FAR
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. POTENTIALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT
WILL MAINLY BE FOCUSED ALONG A SLOW MOVING FRONTAL BOUNDARY THAT WILL
SAG SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE AREA FROM DAYBREAK THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
LEVELS OF INSTABILITY AND SHEAR NEAR THIS BOUNDARY SHOULD BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS AND THUNDERSTORM CLUSTERS WHICH
COULD GENERATE LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. GRADUALLY DECREASING
AMOUNTS OF LOW LEVEL SHEAR WILL PRESENT A LESSER TORNADO RISK IN
COMPARISON TO TONIGHT...ALTHOUGH TORNADOES WITH FRIDAY`S ACTIVITY
STILL CANNOT BE RULED OUT.

THE RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD SHIFT EASTWARD AWAY FROM
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI BY LATE FRIDAY EVENING.

I understand the Oak Grove - HHS baseball game that was scheduled for tomorrow night has been changed to tonight in order to avoid the rain.

I don't think that is the case.

Some scattered showers here in Oak Grove this morning. At this point it looks like we are on the edge of the watch box area.

I was looking at weather.com a minute ago and from the looks of what they had listed it still looks like we might get some storms this afternoon between 3 and 6. Did you find something different, CB, or you just being pessimistic?

Ughhhh. I haven't been outside since I got to work, but with the temp and the rain falling, I'm imagining it's feeling pretty gross out there right now. :(

Dang, I just got caught in a heavy shower while I was smack dab in the middle of a flowerbed pulling weeds! It was black to the s.w. I hobbled for the house (can't run!) and decided "what the heck, looks like I am done for the day!"

I came in and and hopped in the shower, by the time I got out of the shower, I saw the sun was shining again!

Oh well, I am NOT going back out again..screw it for today!

Yeah, that thunder got my 6 dogs to barking and howling this am. I was none too happy! Anyway, I'm so glad we did not get any severe weather. I feel like we have been dodging bullets lately with this crazy weather.
