I just pulled up the website and there is streaming video from their weather office. I didn't hear any audio, but I imagine that will come. It's on wdam.com under the weather tab.

It's live. Rex just did a weather update.
That's pretty cool. It even works on a Mac. Now if they only had a tower cam...

Rex just did another update - I minimized the cam and as soon as Rex started talking I brought it back up - so it worked out really handy for me that way! Maybe some others may want to try it!

It would be more productive if you could watch a live cam in Oak Grove, Downtown Hattiesburg, Petal , and Laurel.

Didn't the internet pretty much unanimously decide that 24/7 feeds of some room where people work (except porn) boring and worthless like 5 years ago?
Watching a dude henpeck a keyboard with the hope he will turn to the camera with some super important weather update is not a feature...its fluff.
I am sure its well intentioned though.

sorry... sometimes i get worked up about my own opinions of whats useful and cool or stupid and worthless, and forget that some people feel differently than myself... or would find that feature useful

From a technological perspective, it's not terribly useful.
However, this type of feature can help create a stronger connection to the product, which strengthens the brand.

No, but I have a severe problem with people joking about Estabutchie. I used to live around there and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that area. I found out about the web cam and thought I would share. I thought it would be useful. I guess I'll just shut up and let y'all gripe about something you aren't even paying for or being forced to use.
