Further shoving dogs into the category of accessory is the latest rage: dyeing your dog a different color.

That's got to be abuse in some way, shape or fashion. Pure and simple abuse!

Some people just don't have enough to do with their time, obviously. Those poor dogs looked miserable. I couldn't get over the one with the g-string drawers.

Oh, come on.
It's no worse than giving a dog a bath.
You can use food coloring as the "dye," and that's not harmful or painful for them. Besides, they're supposedly color blind, so it's not like they're sad because they don't like the color their masters chose.

The Chinese Crested purple dog was terrible. Thank goodness my dog is black so the groomer can't come up with something like that. That is awful. Poor babies.

I read somewhere recently about a woman who dyes her poodle pink using beet juice. It is kind of silly to me. I put sweaters on my smaller dogs in the winter, and some people probably think that is silly too. As long as the dogs are being treated well I guess it does not hurt anything.

My big dog has two sweatshirts that her grandmother made for her after the dog and I took a camping trip and the poor thing was so cold the tent shook with her shivers. :smt105 And then since that wasn't enough, her grandmother bought her a faux shearling jacket.

Yeah but women do it of their own free will. The dogs are forced to do it. Just my opinion.

Okay, so what about kids who have parents who want their child's hair cut a certain way, and the kids don't have a say in it because they're kids? Is this child abuse? No, it's not, and if someone said that, you'd think it was absurd.
Dying a dog's fur with things such a food coloring or vegetable-based products is not animal cruelty. Putting clothes on a dog is more "cruel" than dying it's fur because the dog can actually feel the clothes and can be uncomfortable all day. If you were to give a dog a bath and take a few extra minutes to dye the dog's fur, the dog wouldn't know or care. :smt023
