Spring is well on its way, and summer is nearly here, which means it's time to get out of the house and onto your bicycle!
And what better way to enjoy a Saturday morning, than with a leisurely bike ride through the historic brick paved avenues of Hattiesburg? And what better way to enjoy a ride, than with a group of casual bike riders?
This isn't a competitive ride. We enjoy the ride, the smells of spring flowers on a dewy morning. The temperature is still nice and cool at 7am.
Pull that old bike down. Air up the tires and join us for a ride on Saturday morning. We will begin the ride at the Downtown Train Depot. The ride will last about an hour, and we can enjoy bagels at the Southbound Bagel shop after the ride.
Please note that all riders ride at their own risk and are responsible for purchasing their own bagels.

Just a bump on this, as the ride is tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow's ride will be a 30 min ride, as opposed to the normal hour ride.
Time starts at 7am sharp. We will do our best to hit some of the brick avenues in Hattiesburg, but as this ride is shortened, who knows...
See some of you there!

My tires are aired up and my bike is in the back of the truck.

A few weeks ago I got my bike down to do some riding and the chain was rusted. After I finally got it off and bought a new chain, the new one was 5 links too long. Bought a tool to remove the links and the dang tool broke. I guess fate doesn't want me riding, so I gave up and watched TV instead.

That sounds like fun. I need a bike and need to live closer.

Bring it to the ride next week and I'll have you up and going in about 5 minutes.
Bring your old chain, the new chain, and the new master link (quick link).
I've got an pretty good bag repair tool, and it'll do the job.

You guys missed a nice, short ride this morning. I'd have liked to have gone on for a few more miles and see some of the homes in the area I love looking at in that morning light.
Remington is MUCH younger than I thought he was. Jeez... I thought he was pushing 90 the way he goes on and on around here...
One of my friends from high school also joined us this morning...
We were a bunch of out of shape guys on bikes.
So, if you're out of shape, come join a bunch of other people in the pursuit of a change of shape next Saturday, 7am.

It was great! Not a hard ride, and definitely enjoyable on the old brick streets of downtown. And the bagel afterward didn't hurt!

I enjoyed it! Nice meeting you CB and Rod. Maybe next time just the bagel and not the bagel AND the omelette! I'm not 90 yet, CB.....I just feel like it sometimes! I have other people mentioned that they thought I was real old. Not sure why I act that way. I really feel like a kid, but an out of shape kid. I WILL have my seat adjusted correctly next time and I think my handle bars raised. I forgot I lowered them and I felt sort of scrunched up.

I know it's short notice, but I'm unable to lead the ride this week.
We will have the ride next week, though!
Again, sorry for the short notice.

I want to make one of these. My bike needs a little tune up and I'm clueless. I can knock the cobbwebbs off it though.
