I've heard there is a police standoff on Country Club Road and hostages have been taken.

That's all I know for now, if I find out something else I'll let y'all know.

From what I'm told, it's the suspect from the shooting earlier in the day who killed the 17 year old. There's 2 hostages in the house with the suspect and the swat team is on the scene.

This town hasn't been the same since the migration of some of the refugee's from New Orleons following Katrina. No offense just a observation..

Another observation, albeit unscientific and unresearched on my part, our 'Burg became a bit more uncivilized after the casinos were allowed on the Coast.

True Ted My brother did Counseling for Gambling Addictions. He said there was a lot of Organized crime come from the evolution of the gaming industry here in Mississippi.

Question - Do hostage situations require FBI involvement - or is that only if a State Line is crossed - kidnapping?

Another not so scientific observation....the worse the economy gets the more desperate that desperate people become.

As I was driving down 4th street this evening around 5:15, I went through the intersection where you turn to go to Moore's Lock and Key. The police had that entire road blocked off. I am guessing that is where the shooting occurred??

Yeah.

I don't know. That's a good question. I don't know if it's considered kidnapping or not. I would assume that taking someone hostage has a code of it's own. I am thinking that the local department would handle it unless it kept ongoing for a day or so. Maybe someone will tell us.

hostages would typically be something a local agency would handle unless they requested additional assistance

This town hasn't been the same since the migration of some of the refugee's from New Orleons following Katrina. No offense just a observation.. I disagree with this. Most of these thugs were born and raised right here. PARENTING is the problem, or should I say lack of parenting. That always freaks me out. You would think parents who get to stay home all day would be raising their youngsters to be products of superiority. It is just the opposite.

And a valid observation, at that.

I take considerable offense at the fact that we let them run roughshod over us because we're afraid of "offending" them.

**** them and the wave of sewage they rode in on.

Time to start fighting back against the lowlifes, folks. They're not going away by themselves.

I wonder how many more murders and home invasion robberies it will take before people wake up, throw off the yoke of political "correctness" and take this fight to the vermin who prey on us for kicks?

Luvn and I passed the crime scene last night about 6P (North St). It was really strange how some of the residents acted as though nothing out of the ordinary had just happened. Kids were out riding bikes and playing and adults were sitting on porches laughing and carrying on.
I would be in the house, doors bolted, hiding in the closet until the suspect was caught.

I would imagine it's gonna take being on the verge of the end for people to fight back against these people. This is when neighbors need to unite under a common cause to keep Crime out of their neighborhoods. I'm sick of seeing people scared to get out and shop without being in a constant fear. The answer???? Whiskey for my men,Beer for my Horses:smt023
