I am in the process of job hunting and have found a few postings on craigslist.com that seem like they could be promising. My problem is should I trust anything posted on there? I'd hate to send out a resume to some identity thief and have them steal all my info. What do y'all think?

Well the only thing that should be on your resume is your Name, email address, and a contact phone number. I would be leary of any job posting on craigslist. You could always contact them first before you send it.

That's all that's on there, but I'm really paranoid about people using that little bit of info to their advantage, ya know? Oh well. If anyone knows of any clerical type positions in the Hattiesburg area (closer to Petal), please let me know. I'm getting desperate!!!

I found one of the jobs I have right now on craigslist. However, I didn't send them my resume or any info until they sent me more info and I could check into them. I was very leery about it too and most of them I would not apply for, but I checked into this one and it was a real company. I got my first check yesterday.

Mind if I ask what kind of job it is?

I'm really desperate to find something other than what I'm doing. It's getting bad when walking through the doors is enough to make my heart start racing (in a bad way)

You also might want to try the temp place (Manpower). I worked for them once or twice right around the time of Hurricane Katrina when I was between jobs and school. I went back a couple weeks ago since I'm job hunting now. Took the data entry test and made the highest score possible. (You'd never know it by the way I'm typing tonight though.) They said they'd definitely be looking for something for me but haven't heard from them yet. They did say they would be hiring for Walmart.com sometime in June and I've heard lots of good things about it. Might be something to think about. I'm told they have pretty flexible hours as well.

Yeah, Walmart.com is a cushy job... but it's got it's problems, too. And working through Manpower, you may just end up tossed out on the street one day. No notice, nothing. There are other members here who worked for Walmart.com on the Walmart side, and they were tossed out, too.

Really, it is a cushy job, with little accountability. To me, working my ass off didn't put me up there more than the people who just sat around and talked all day and didn't work a lick. Hell, I even saw some people who just sat there all day and surfed the internet, read books, etc.

Then one week, they wouldn't post my schedule for the next week. I was scheduled mon tue and wed, thurs. Went in on tues, was there for an hour, got called into a training room, and was shown the door in less than an hour, along with about 40 other people because our 'Assignment' had ended.

I was pissed at the lack of notice from Wal-mart.com. Still am a bit. You don't just do that to people, even if they are temp workers. I'd been working there for 5 months. It was just stupid.

They called me about 2 weeks later after I'd secured a new job, asking me to come back to work for the 800-Walmart side, which is the number people call when they have a complaint about a visit to wal-mart. No thank you.
