Anybody have any good suggestions on how to cure a sweet tooth... Last year I lost 20 pounds dieting and for the past few weeks I have craved nothing but sweet stuff... My weakness is white powder donuts and vanilla cream waffer cookies... What is a healthy late nite snack you can have that won't make you gain 10 pounds a day?

peanut butter on vanilla wafers. or 1 hersheys kiss, or a slice of angelfood cake with sliced strawberries, or 1scoop of frozen yogurt with 1 oreo cookie crumbled on top

Angel food, topped with straw berries, rasberries OR a splenda made frosting (ya it's not 100% healthy but at least you take some of the sugar/calories out).

I seem to always have a sweet tooth at night....and I've found those caramel flavored rice cakes cures mine! They're not a powdered donut but they'll do!!

I became addicted to vanilla diet coke...anytime I wanted a snack I would eat two pieces of bread (the nature's own kind that has lower calories and lots of fiber) and a diet coke. The bread expands in your stomach and the coke is sweet.

I know I wasn't helping, but you just reminded me that I wanted some ice cream.

Sweet cravings are often the result of a candida yeast overgrowth in the bowels due to prior antibiotic use. This problem can be helped or aided by supplementing the diet with probiotics like acidophilus or apple cider vinegar. A good immediate "fix" for the sweet cravings is a tablespoon of honey which is metabolised differently than refined sugar in the body and will not cause a sugar spike to the blood. Tequila often helps, also. But since chocolate is full of wonderful antioxidants, why not eat lots of it? :)

Never eat or drink anything "diet" as that stuff they replace sugar with is incredibly bad for you.

To get the antioxidants from the chocolate, please remember that it is the DARK chocolate that offers the highest quantity ... with that said ... I'm not too big on the junk food, my kids and husband don't like me too much for it either, but I make it up by giving them chocolate covered graham crakers :-D Granola bars are good too :) The hubby likes me to melt dark chocolate chips and cover strawberries and bananas with it too ... the variations are really quite endless :-)

Graham crackers and coolwhip. Break cracker in half spread with coolwhip top with other cracker 1/2. Wrap in foil and place in freezer. Low-fat/calorie ice cream sandwhich

or if you like marshmallows....

5 nilla wafers top each wafer with 1 and 1/2 mini marshmallows. Place in oven to melt marshmallows and enjoy.

Bops has a no fat frozen custard................they'll top it with fresh strawberries............it's soooooooooooooooooooo good...............it's not on the menu outside....you have to ask for it!!! They also sell it by the pint or quart so you can keep it in the fridge.

I have been eating a container of yogurt every evening. It is low fat and it's supposed to help with digestion...

It cures my sweet cravings. Be bold and try lots of different flavors!

Any kind of slightly sweetened cereal, dry. Like Honey-Nut Cheerios or frosted mini-wheats. Also had some Kashi cinnamon mini-wheats. Way better for you than cookies.

To keep cravings down, make sure you're getting plenty of fiber throughout your day... and drinks plenty of water with it. Diet sodas may not have calories, but they are the devil. SO unhealthy for you.

Also, try Nutella spread on whole wheat bread for a nighttime snack. It's basically a hazlenut version of peanut butter, with a chocolate taste. The sugar level isn't too bad either. It doesn't take much, but it satisfies your sweet tooth!

My sister gave the big girl something called a "yankee" Strawberry Shortcake ... a piece of angel food cake, with low fat / fat free vanilla ice cream, topped with fresh strawberries (or frozen) and some cool whip ... she says it's devine & the big girl loves it ... She's type 2 diabetic too, so the sugar isn't too bad either :D

Those little fat free jello pudding cups are good and low in calories. Also, I read somewhere recently to sprinkle seedless grapes with sugar & freeze them for a tasty sweet snack.

I get dark chocolate and melt it, then dip a banana in it and freeze. I also make banana pudding with the sugar free pudding & low fat cool whip. Even quicker and still yummy is yogurt (as mentioned above) there are TONS of flavors!!
