View Full Version : So, men have it easy...

Hmmm... I have somewhere to go this weekend and have decided that I have nothing appropriate. Men really do have it easy. The waist sizes and lengths are put right on the pants. Also the shoulder sizes. Ladies sizes are not so easy...I wear a size 8 in some brands, a size 10 in other brands, and believe it or not, neither fits me. Sometimes I can wear petites, and sometimes I cannot...What really makes me mad is that once I find a brand/size that fits me, they either discontinue it or change the sizing.:smt102

Ladies would never allow their waist size to be printed on the outside of their pants, would they?

Men don't have it that easy. I still say I wear a 32 waist but all my pants say 44 and my wife laughed at me when I said where are my 32 waist pants.
:smt102
I want my smaller pants back

I really would prefer that the waist size would be printed there...at least maybe I could find something that fits and looks right. I would just like to see some kind of standard in sizing for ladies. I get so tired of going and trying on outfit after outfit in different sizes, and none of them seem to fit. Since I'm 60 now, I really don't care if the size is printed on the outside..I just want something that fits without having to try on several different brands in several different sizes..and the sad part about it is that usually none of them fit like I want them to..

Women arent the only ones with these problems though. Hubby can go to one store, try on his size pants and they fit right. Go to another store and that same size in a different brand fits different. I think its just clothing companies trying to drive us all nuts!!

easy? do you know how embarrassing it is to go to Sears with your granny as a young man, and have her holler at the top of her lungs, "Excuse me, maam, could you show us where the HUSKY jeans are?"

Comes from companies contracting their product out too too many companies. Hilfiger is the worst. I found two shirts, labeled the same size. One fit; one was too tight thru the body. I picked up two pair of Roundtree & York shorts from Dillard's last year. Same size; same style. One khaki, one taupe. One fits now, the other still won't fit in the waist. Must be 2" difference in the waist. At 500% profit you'd think you could buy quality in clothes.

You know, the ladies top manufacturers are just as bad! I wear a small & sometimes an XS in a top. I picked up a cute top to look at it the other day in Dirt Cheap & it was made by Papagallo(expensive brand) & they claimed it was a small--NOT! Maybe a large! I compared the size with another small top made by a different company & there was a world of difference in the size.:smt102

We need to make a Dirt Cheap thread and post when something good is in. It would be good to know when a GOOD shipment is in. :smt001

I buy most of my clothes online, as the only store that has pants that fit me tends to cater to the 'urban' crowd, and I'm just not that hip of a white guy... plus, I'm getting older, and don't care for 'that' look.

They discontinued the jeans that fit me and looked nice...again, so I had to go in search of another brand. I went to Dillard's and there was a saleslady there that really helped me out. She brought me about 15 different pairs and sizes of jeans until I finally found some that fit. It's been a long time since a saleslady helped me like she did!
