Whats your favorite flavor... Mine is Black Walnut.... and my best homemade recipe is this.

1/2 gal of chocolate milk.
1 16 oz tub of cool whip.
Crush at leat 6 large Butter Finger candy bar into the mixture. (Crunchy Reeses works well also)

Turn on the churn and wait.

Chocolate. The chocolatier the better.....with chocolate chunks in it.

My parents made some homemade ice cream and he put coconut extract in it. I usually don't like coconut but it wasn't bad.

The trick to rally good homemade ice cream is high fat content milk.

I'd never admit it to my mom, but I never cared for any of the homemade ice cream she ever made. It was always thin and watery.

Vanilla is my fav but I also love this:

Orange Sherbert

2 Qts Orange Soda
1 Can Eagle Brand Milk
1 Can Water

Pour all in ice cream freezer...Yum! Sometimes I add a can of crushed pineapple to it.

When I was in high school our church had ice cream fund raisers every couple of weeks during the summer. We'd have up to a dozen different flavors/recipes at a time. Peanut butter & jelly was one of my favorites.

Growing up our next door neighbors (1/2 mile away) were an elderly couple, the lady was losing her sight but refused to wear glasses. Got invited for homemade ice cream one Sunday afternoon, was to be pineapple ice cream. Trouble was, there was a cup of onions next to the pineapple in the fridge. Ever had onion ice cream???

My mamaw used to make this all the time when I was a kid, and I still love it.

Her recipe was:

1 six-pack of Orange Crush (I use a 2-liter of Sunkist orange soda)
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 can of crushed pineapple

I need to get to the store and get some ingredients! I got a strong hanker on for some orange sherbet!
