I like:

Mahogany Bar--for the happy hour specials and because they don't water them down.

Plaid Rhino--cause my girlies go there and the bartender takes care of the girlies...

Martini Spot--because it is swanky and close...

My frequented haunts don't exist any more.

The original Homestead on Gordan's Creek and Baldy's (formerly the Ritz Lounge) - they were the near-neighborhood beer bars.
and -
the bar in the former Southernaire Motel. No jukebox. You could sit and talk without yelling. Hmmmmm - - - if the place had a name I've long forgotten.

Afterwork for drinks? I head to my house :)

Got a wide selection of liquors, the bartender knows what I like and I don't have to worry about driving if my mugshot cup of whatever has me buzzin hard :)

The only drink I like to pay for is draft beer. It's the only thing I can't make at home.

I just can't stomach paying those prices for liquor. I'd rather just buy a bottle and the mixer or juices.

I guess my idea of a place to go for a drink after work are pretty different from ya'll!

I get off @ 7:30 AM - anyone for a good cup of coffee??? :kekeke:

I usually get off at 1-2am, so most places are closed by the time I can get to them.

If I go out to drink, then these are the places I'd go:

Ropers when they have all you can drink (I have a VERY high alcohol tolerance, I mean VERY high, I am not a cheap drunk lol).

Chili's for 2 for 1 Long Island teas ($7 gets ya good)

If you work in the restaruant industry, I hear Sideline's has a late night special for ya. 2 for 1 on a good bit of stuff.

Logan's roadhouse teas (because they are made with everclear!! I just hate that they limit you to 2 )

And I'd go to the hog just for the food mainly :) and occassionally, I'll get a mahogarita.

I like the Mahogony bar but the Martini Spot is a little fru fru for me. I've never been to the other one. Where is one that has 70 beers from around the world on tap? We have Barley's Tap Room up here. 70 on tap and that doesn't count the bottled beers. Great atmosphere. Great pizza too. I knocked back a nice Belgian ale called Flying Dog, on Father's Day.

70 on tap must be the Keg & Barrel. It's a cool place too, but last time I went the 22 yo braniac behind the bar, seemed to have a bit of difficulty understanding what "Merlot" meant.

Yes, they do serve wine. If they did not, I would not have asked for a glass. Any bar should be able to offer more than one type of alcohol.

If cost is no issue, the Martini Spot is probably the best bar I've ever been to. It is a little fru fru, can't deny that. But one man's fru fru is another man's cool. But, wow, if you like Martinis, no one else in town is even in the same league.

The Keg and Barrel has not been mentioned. Neighborhood feel and a gazillon beers on tap. If that don't get you, there is happy hour at the Bottling Company with that you can get lost in a big place feel. $1 Pabst at Bianchi's.

Roper's - the lets get drunk, line dance, and fight bar.

USMgrad08
06-26-2008, 01:08 PM
1. The End Zone - fun bartenders, laid back atmosphere, cheap, heavily-poured drinks
2. Chesterfield's - suprisingly cheap drinks, great atmosphere, nice bartenders, good service
3. The Mahogany - I honestly just needed a third. My opinion of the Hog has been steadily changing. I feel cramped when I am there. The service is pretty good, but the cocktails get so overwhelmed that it takes forever to get a drink. Also, the last couple of times I was there...the drinks were not very strong at all.

I forgot about Chesterfields. I've always had great service and great drinks in the bar. Kevin must not be at End Zone anymore. He was about as fun a case of the shingles. I agree that Mahogany has been a bit inconsistent with the cocktails lately. However, the soft shell crab I had there last week was incredelicious.

1- Keg N Barrell
2- End Zone
3- Cucos

I like Chesterfields and Martini Spot, too. And I haven't been to the Hog in a long time. My one complaint with Keg N Barrell is the service sometimes. The servers get so into talking to each other or their friends, they'll ignore you.

My top three:
1. The Endzone- good drinks and the coldest rumplemintz in town.

2. Chesterfield's- It's two for one and 1.50 draft everyday and live music wednesdays and saturdays.

3. B & E Wine Bar - it's kinda expensive but i like the big patio

I do not like Keg & Barrel. It makes me yawn. Good beer selection though.
