Catfish One

Don't know if this has been posted already or not. But saw today that the Catfish One on West 4th next to Mugshots has closed down. They had their sign flashing Closed, thanks for your patronage and all the stuff on the drive thru menu had been removed. Does anyone know what happened?

I saw a few cars over there and it looks like someone was cleaning it out. Either the original owner decided to change the concept of the restaurant or someone bought them out. Honestly, I really never noticed too much cars in the parking lot when I drive by.

I hate I never made it over there before they petered out. Some of the best catfish I've ever tasted was at a catfish one roadside trailer (one of those consession stand things) in Picayune. I assume they were the same owners.

I saw that sign yesterday and was really surprised. They had really good food,I guess the one in Petal and the other one over by the right light on Broadway Drive next to Our Place will still be opened, I hope so anyway.

(I actually had a catfish burger for lunch at The Back Door in Columbia a couple of weeks ago. Delicious!)

Best ones I've had were in Florida............Season's has one or did at one time, but they had some type of sauce on it that I didn't care for so I had to tell them to hold the sauce.........

This is Mississippi folks....real Mississippians don't go for fake catfish......there are a dozen great catfish houses within easy driving distance of H'burg....why would any sane person eat at a fast food, crappy catfish place?

I agree. Too much for not enough food (if you tried getting a cheaper lunch plate, they gave you next to nothing). Plus I just wasn't too impressed. After you've had the catfish at the "igloo" in Florence, it's hard to find something to live up to it.

We never went to the Catfish One by Mugshots. It seemed it was more expensive to eat there than the other locations plus it was a pain to try to get back onto 4th!

I haven't been that impressed with them lately. Small fish that doesn't taste great. I've opted for chicken from them instead.

We didn't like that one by Mugshots. One day we were in the Burg for a doctor appointment & stopped there & ordered 2 catfish dinners. Well, we found out that not only were their prices higher, we got 4 fish instead of 6! Petal gives you 6 in their catfish dinner. The one is Petal is great!:clap:
