I saw on the news last night on WDAM that there is a new Museun down on Highway 49 now. It's called the I don't Believe he is Dead,Elvis Presley Museum. I could not believe it. I grew up a really Big Elvis fan.but, that is One place I don't plan to visit. I could not believe all the items they
showed on tv about the place. Did any of you see that story? Im surprised that the Presley Family allowed such a crazy place to open.:smt009

I missed the news piece, but I've seen the museum from the road. What did it show? Would it be worthwhile for a big Elvis fan? Did they mention price or hours/days?

My oldest wants me to take him there. Hes a HUGE Elvis fan. I didnt see anything about it on the news so Im unsure whats wrong with the place. We noticed it a few weeks ago on our way out of Hattiesburg.

That's the funniest thing I've read all day.....

Actually, Hattiesburg does have at least ONE good one. May not live up to Louvre standards but that's almost comparing apples to oranges since they don't deal with fine art and antiquities. In fact, comparing it to other museums of it's type I'd probably give it a 7.5 or an 8, although I hear it's supposed to be getting better.

Back on topic, I totally want to stop by one day just to laugh, but don't want to go by myself. Has anyone actually been? Maybe it's not as bad as I imagined....

where on 49 is it??

Its on the northbound side of 49, just past the big red Havard pest billboard. They also have a automotive repair shop there. If you get to the Pep's point rd. red light, you've gone too far.

Well everyone who reads the HA will learn more about that New Elvis Museum today. I can't believe that they have a casket in that place. I still don't think I will be visiting that Museum. And as Much as I Loved Elvis, I know that he is not alive, all though I wish he was.

No, Mr. Charles Walker is still repaying his debt to society.

I was wondering where he came up with the money for that one.

I dont think I will be attending the viewing of any Elvis items this year. Not that big of a fan but I done the real deal twice now. Thanks for letting us know about it though.

If you want to see a good muesem go to the Military Muesem at Camp Shelby. It is free to the public but you must have a valid I.D. and proof of Insurance to get on the base. It is very impressive.
