I have a 2004 Honda Accord and the light on the radio console is out. The radio works fine just the light has gone out. Before I take it somewhere and get charged out the ying yang, anyone know what it might be and can it be repaired easily?

Well, if you change your mind just let me know. They make two different dash kit assemblies for your car. One to replace where the factory unit is and the other for the pocket in front of your gear shifter. One is cheap, one expensive. Might want to find a used unit at a junkyard or online.

Small, unobtrusive flash light at Dollar Tree for $ 1.00, pack of 8 batteries (enough to last the life of the car) for another $ 1.00. $ 2.00 - problem solved!

They do seem to have problems with the cd unit/radio however....I know my cd's go stuck in my '03 Honda and it cost about $250 to get it fixed.

That same light has been out on my 01 Honda for quite awhile. I can live without it, so I haven't bothered to get it fixed.

Dude you need to chill the fu*k out. If you don't have any better info and /or suggestion than to use a freakkin $1.00 flashlight to solve a problem with a 25k car, keep your comments to yourself, darlin.
You would think that it doesn't take an Eienstein to figure out that :-D means I'm just teasing.

if i still worked over there i would have verified this for ya:

http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-4230.html

http://www.hondacarforum.com/honda-3/21774-honda-accord-03-radio-panel-lights.html

apparently there are 2 TSB's out for the 03-04 accords about what you are experiencing.

did you buy the car at vardaman? i know rod will work everyone, but you stand a little better chance with a "good faith" replacement job if the car came from them or the service is done there. it's the nature of the beast.

as for the 98-02 accords, you can replace the blubs in those. at least i did a few times in my 01 accord. BTW the clock lamps can only come from the honda dealer-

I bought the car in Covington LA. I'll take it over to the dealership here. I've had them work on my other Honda and they did a good job. I was just wondering if I could pick up the bulb at an auto parts place & install it myself. Thanks for the info.:smt001

Why is that "eye popping"? Have you ever priced a V-6 Honda Accord with heated leather seats, sun roof, satellite radio, etc... I got quotes from five different dealerships in the south louisiana area. I got exactly what I wanted for the lowest of the five quotes.

Hermione
06-25-2008, 10:22 PM
My 03 LX cost a little less than that, but when you add in that V-6, the price goes up quite a bit. At the time I bought it, I was on the highway a lot, and needed it. Now that I drive in town 98% of the time, I'd go for a Civic. (And no leather seats or moon-roof in my Accord.)

FB, are you talking to me? I've owned three cars since 1977. I buy new, take care of them, and keep them a loooonnnggg time. This last one is by far the nicest, and I love it every time I get in. It was worth every penny, and ought to be good for another eight or nine years.

JKspatty, what color is your Accord? I have a black EX-L and love it. My first car in high school was an Accord... went Mitsubishi, then Camry, and went back to Accord as quickly as I could. Love it, especially the part of getting 33 mpg.

I do have one problem, though. One of my map lights went out. Is there an easier fix to this problem than to the radio going out?

carsalesguy
06-25-2008, 11:54 PM
map lights on the accord should just pop out using a knife blade or something-
