Ok so, Im taking the shortcut around Cloverleaf Mall that comes out at the stop sign on 17th Ave where you can see Wards, but you can't see what is coming from Adeline St. Im just starting to move when some crazy in an 80 model Mustang come speeding over the hill doing at least 60 or 70, in an area where the limit is 20. He slams on his brakes and then flips me the bird like its my fault. If I had been in my older piece of junk car and hadn't had my 3 year old with me, I probably would have chased him down and just run into him for the heck of it. Just reminds me of a line from Fried Green Tomatoes. "I'm older and I have more insurance.
Crazy Drivers.

I come through that intersection now and then and it scares the heck out of me. People race down 17th like it's the freeway.

That has to be one of the worst spots in H'burg imo. It's too easy to pull out in front of someone who's going 20, much less 50 or 60. I was just thinking the other day that they need to do something with it but couldn't come up with an easy fix. I also wonder how many accidents have happened there. I've never heard of any but it seems like it should be a lot.

This has been on my mind a good bit lately. Where is HPD's traffic unit? Them Motorcycles surly do more than look pretty. I see people just blatantly blow traffic lights, speed and drive for ever in a turn lane. Isn't anyone enforcing traffic law in the city?

I've seen one there... but yeah it isn't the safest. Luckily Cloverleaf Mall doesn't have as much traffic as it had... 15 years ago lol

The big problem is the hill. Not much they can do about it.

I was almost hit in that same area last week. The driver looked at me like I was on drugs!! Same thing at Turtle Creek Mall today. I was turning left going towards the side near Willy T's. Well the driver that was going straight that had to stop for me must not know that their lane merges into my lane. Started blowing their horn and flipping me off. I guess they thought I was merging into them. HELLO!! Well, just to make sure I was not doing anything wrong when I left I drove that way to see and yep, her lane ended not mine. STUPID PEOPLE!

I completely try to avoid that intersection. I try to remember to go to the stop sign by Ward's to get out b/c that intersection scares me so bad. I wish they would close off the intersection or put a stop sign right there that might help some

They could put up a sign I've seen mostly out in rural areas, "Intersection over hill". I go that way quite often, and it can get interesting.

The problem is not the intersection, but the stupid drivers! That actually is the case with most problem spots on roads and highways, the people behind the wheel not exercising enough caution and driving like maniacs!

I totally agree that the problem is stupid drivers, in this case going too fast. However, the car which has gone around the north side of the mall and is trying to turn left onto 17th, cannot see what's coming from the left because of the hill.

I think the problem is both bad driving and the intersection. I hate that intersection and have witnessed many almost accidents. Naturally, traffic has grown along with the population in recent years and I don't think people have adapted to all the extra cars on the road. Use a blinker folks thats all I'm saying. Use a blinker.
