Anyone else use SuperD in the Arbor in the past? Well, I used them for years. Loved 'em. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a prescription to be filled, even if I didn't call in a refill ahead of time. They knew who I was anytime I walked in the door. Well, a little over a month ago they were bought out my Walgreens :smt009 All prescriptions were tranferred to Walgreens by the mall. Now, I am sitting on the phone trying to get a refill on something. I pressed a zillion numbers on who I needed to talk to.... Ive been listening to Walgreens commercials and elevator music now for 20 freakin minutes!!!! I hate this crap. Walgreens pharmacy workers are rude when you go in there too.
So, especially after this episode, I will have my prescriptions transferred elsewhere. Anyone use Newpointe pharmacy in OG? Are they pretty timely getting Rx's filled?

Several folks here use Newpointe and they even deliver their medicines to them. They are real nice and polite when they come here but I have never personally used them as I still use Rodger's in Petal. I do understand that they are more reasonable than Walgreen and Rite Aid

I don't know about WalGreen by the Mall, but the Walgreens on Hardy across from Chesterfields is pretty good. The workers aren't rude and will get you script as fast as possible for you.

I like Walgreens on Hardy across from USM...they are very helpful, polite and close to my house. With gas $4.00 a gal. it saves me alot of driving...and one of the best parts is they are open and fill scrips 24/7!

My mom uses them too and has always been pretty satisfied. Well, except for the price of drugs going up every single month.

The Target Pharmacy is terrific.
They even gave us a list of their $4 prescription drugs.
They are very prompt and efficient in filling prescriptions faxed to them from doctors' offices.
Sometimes the Target circular in the Sunday paper has a coupon for a $10 (or some similar amount) Target card for bringing in a new prescription.
The pharmacists and the techs there are really nice.

I should add that Target is very prompt in their handling of auto refills.

target is very good....
but when i'm not using target i'm using CVS- all my mom's very expensive prescriptions come from there, and they have never missed a beat trying to refill them all- also they will go out of their way to order a new medicine if need be.
Pharmacy is open 24 hours also
i hate walgreens with a passion- the one by the mall is a joke, and the one on 49 always has some shady people walking around IMO when i go in there- the only thing walgreens is good for is the cigarette prices are cheap and they are on the way to the house coming from work-

Another loyal Rodger's customer.
I always call around when I get a Rx...and without fail, they always have the cheapest price.
They did a very big favor for my family once...something that probably cost them money...and I swore I'd never take my business elsewhere.

Lips, I also used SuperD and hated that they closed. But most of their people was supposed to transfer to Walgreen. But now I will start using Anderson's in Purvis. They were like SuperD in a lot of ways. When you are working in Purvis, might want to stop by there and check it out....right next door to Subway

I thought about having my things transferred to Purvis..... but.... I forget things sometimes, and really wouldn't wanna make a trip to Purvis on a Saturday just for a Rx.
I would use Target, but I REALLY don't need another reason to go in there. That place is a death drap for my wallet. I find so much, and I don't have the self-control to just get my Rxs!! :)

I use Walgreens on 49. I havent had any problems or long wait times for my prescriptions. However the one on 98 pissed me off the last time I went in. They told me it would be 15 minutes if I waited but an hour if I dropped it off. I told her I'll wait but Im going to go grab my purse. 30 minutes later I go to the counter to check on it because I was the ONLY person there. The idiot put an hour wait time!!! WTH?!

Anderson's in Purvis is great. Nice people and personal service. It's very similar to Rodgers' for customer care.
Newpointe isn't too shabby either if you don't mind fighting the traffic.
As far as the chain pharmacies, Target is the way to go. Excellent staff and not so busy that they can't actually help you.
The other Super D on 28th is out of the way for alot of folks, but it's nice as well.

Target can put you on auto refill and call you three days before your meds are out. I think they can also email the notification. We started using Target when we realized my husbands meds were on the $4 list. With his insurance we were having to pay $147 & $150 per month for 30 days. $8 is a whole lot better for sure.

I am in a very rare situation - I get free drugs from Keesler (as an Air Force Retiree and I get free drugs from the VA (after BCBS co-pay) because my problems are service connected.......but I get my best pharmacy service from Rodgers. Whenever I see a doc/surgeon and I need those drugs now to take care of my problem, I head straight to Rodgers.
Kim went out of his way to help me with my medications after the pharmacy @ Keesler was wiped out after Katrina. Whenever I need something "right now" - I go there. I am always greeted with a friendly hello, have my meds filled in a timely manner and am always thanked for my patronage. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Y'all mentioned that Oak Grove pharmacy on Old Hwy 11 just north of Oak Grove Road. That bugs me. Not the pharmacy, but the name of the road. I'm not sure why the county named that section of road from Oak Grove Road to 98 as Old Hwy 11. Hwy 11 never went that way. That was Norton Road as long as I could remember and then some idiot with the county renamed all of the roads and got that one wrong as well as others. Hwy 24 and Hwy 11 merged at the Exxon and followed Oak Grove Road all the way into Hattiesburg. Later, 98 was built and Norton road was built to connect 98 to Oak Grove Road. Sorry for my rant. :(

Good luck with Walgreens. We used to use them until about 2 years ago. The time it takes them to fill a prescription not to mention the fact that they are hardly ever ready ontime. I have a son that takes insulin. His doctor called him in a prescription on a Wednesday morning. Walgreen's informed them that there was a 2 hour wait on prescriptions. The doctor advise them it was alright. We went in on Thursday evening to pick up the prescription and we still had to wait over 25 min to get it. The lady advise that the prescription was not filled was why we had to wait. This was not the first time it had happened either. This was the last straw for us though. Waiting for over a day and then having to wait for 25 more min b/c someone did not fill it when it was supposed to get filled. So like I said.........Good Luck with Walgreens!!!!!

THANK YOU very much for pointing that out..I have said that so often and in several threads on here...I know I would like to kick the persons who changed the names. I am nearly 60 years old, born and raised here and have lived here forty years....I agree, Hwy 11 NEVER went that way...but as No-Halo pointed out to me one time on here...it could have been back during the Civil War and I just "forgot!" :)

Same reason "Perkins Creek" is now known as "Bent Creek". Seems like all the things we grew up with are being phased out. I remember Norton Road too and the family it was named for. I also remember people referring to it as Lofton Road. I swam in Perkins Creek as a child......so cold it turned my lips blue. But, we learn to live with the changing times. Sorry to get "off topic".

I have used Rite Aid in Petal forever- since it was whatever it was before- lol. But hubby uses the Wal Mart pharmacy. First off- I hate Wal Mart on a daily basis and don't need another excuse to go in, and I always get what I need with no problemos at Rite Aid. Jerry Thornton is the bomb. But--- I sure would like to know if my 3 daily meds are on that magical $4 list. Where can I find that?

That is the BUSIEST Walgreen's and pharmacy on the ENTIRE UNIVERSE I do believe - I hate going in there, even though I get my scrips filled there...that's b/c it's close to the house and I'm too lazy to switch over to another...
