Sure, we have Britney Spears, but France has it's entire country.

And now we have this to confirm it!!!!
When I was in Germany the audience would regularly vote for wrong answers. They felt that if the contestant was too stupid to know such things, he didn't deserve the money.

I probably would have on something as simple as this. I mean, that's totally ridiculous. For a a grown adult to not know the answer to something as simple to this is just sad! :(

Well, now we know why they lose every war.

And now we know why those French soldiers thought they were shooting blanks instead of real bullets.

I LOVE France and the French. We have just as many stupid people as they do. In fact, we (Americans) are really not all that different imo. I've also found they are very grateful for our help in the past, at least for the most part. You still have a few who just don't care, just like you do here. Anyhow, I'm going to see my way out of this discussion before it gets nasty and I get aggravated because this is something I'm passionate about.
Regardless, this video reminded me how bad my French is. Reminder to self: Watch more French youtube videos.

True. The older ones appreciate us, the younger ones? Not so much. Same as in the U.S. The older people are more patriotic than the younger ones. The younger ones never went through WWII, rationing, patriotism that existed then. One example: Ted Williams gave up four years out of his prime to go fight. He didn't have to. Even Jimmy Stewart and other Hollywood stars were joining up. A bit different today, eh?

True. Do you remember the thread I started about Bridget Bardot getting fined for complaining about the Muslim takeover? They're doin it here too, and we are lettin' 'um in the name of PCness, all the while backhanding Christians at every turn.

In the same way that not many Americans appreciate the French help during the Revolutionary War...
I love to pick on France, but like Marion said, we aren't all that different. France has the same problems as the US, the PC crowd are over-running the government and selling out the culture and traditions of the country.

I agree, but its just because we've had different experiences. If I had been alive during WWII, I would've enlisted in a heartbeat. My dream is to be a WAC. In today's world, not so much. You couldn't pay me millions to go to Iraq. Plus, not ALL of us "younger" (which is a relative word, especially today), are unpatriotic. I know plenty of young Americans and French who are patriotic, although I do realize it will never be the same as those who lived through it.
Anyhow, you're post about Jimmy Stewart (who is one of my favorites, btw and received a Croix de Guerre from the French for his WWII service), reminded me about an experience I had in France and I have to tell the story, even though it's a little off-topic.
The room we stayed in in Paris had a balcony and if you went out there, you couldn't help but see straight in the window across the way. One night I went out there and saw something that looked awfully familiar. Once I figured out what it was, I couldn't believe it. Those ungrateful democracy hating French were watching Mr. Smith Goes to Washington with French subtitles. I so wanted to go over there and ask if I could watch too. I even took a picture just so I'd have proof and even though it's bad, I'm going to post it anyway. Actually, I think it's a neat photo cause Jimmy Stewart looks like a ghost....

and be fair... WWII was the last time america reigned supreme over a clear cut evil opponent.... and was attacked by a clearly defined enemy. And the majority of us werent alive.
every other war/conflict since then has been crap like iraq(2003, the 1991 iraq war was what it should have been..quick and we didnt stick around to do some nation building) and vietnam. Oh and the korean war, grenada, the dominican republic, panama, somalia and haiti have all been examples of us basically swinging our dicks to force our will upon other countries.
edit: the one caveat to this is afghanistan... we were right to kick afghanistans ass, even though the talibans rise in power is an indirect result of meddling in foreign affairs when we were in the cold war with the russians. that being said, we didnt finish the job and hunt down mullah omar and simply smash the taliban into the ground like we did the nazis. we've instead gotton sidetracked in iraq and last month, more guys died in afghanistan than iraq.
