View Full Version : Beer, Liberals, and the Truth

Couldn't help but post this email I got....:bowrofl:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the
invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundations of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor the aluminum can had been invented yet, so while our early ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be
invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is now known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at
hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher
testosterone levels than their men.

Most social workers, personal injury lawyers, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who
works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get something for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:
It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to piss them off. And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self.

I reserve the right to not be a conservative or a liberal.....I think I'm a little of both and a lot of neither....

The only way I've ever been able to distinguish true liberals from true conservatives is by this method:

Liberals= flamboyant homosexuals
Conservatives= spend big bucks to fly to Bangkok and dive into the vast underworld of underaged male prostitution....

Believe it or not the US was founded on beer. The pilgrims were headed for Virginia when they ran out of beer so the captain & crew decided to cut the trip short, they forced the colonists ashore to whip up a brew for the trip home....true story.

While I probably identify more with liberals than conservatives, I still found the stereotypes to be, for the most part, accurate. I'm often turned off by the pansy assess that all to often rail and ruin a good and valid liberal message.

Maybe I'm just not keeping up on the news, but I just can't seem to remember any liberals in the last few years that have been caught up in a "gay" scandal...no liberals looking for gay booty in an airport...no liberals caught hooking up with a gay "massage therapist" in Denver... Know why? Because liberals are about 500,000 years more evolved than conservatives. We actually think that a person's sexual orientation is not politically relevant. We actually think that providing adequate health care and education for EVERYBODY is a matter of first order importance.

So go ahead and mock us, but at some point you'll be getting some health care or education or social security....and it won't be a conservative that got it for you. They're a little too busy looking for sex at the airport.

There's a kind of famous story about Margaret Mead, maybe the most well known cultural anthropologist in the western world. She was asked, "What's the oldest and most basic sign of civilization?" Her response: "A healed femur". You see, a homo sapien couldn't fish or hunt or care for him/herself with a broken femur. Therefore, if a femur was healed, it was because the strongest among the group cared for the weakest of the group. This is not generally characteristic of homo erectus, who lived on earth about 500,000 years ago. That group was simply about the survival of the fittest. If a member of the group had a broken femur, they were simply left to die.

Is this not the most fundamental different between liberals and conservatives? Liberals want to see that the weakest of the weak still matter...that their "broken femur" will not leave them to simply fend for themselves. Conservatives want to say "your broken femur is your own fault, so deal with it. No welfare for you."

I stand by my claim that liberals are 500,000 years more evolved than conservatives.

Lol no I'm not saying conservatives have broken femurs...

I'm saying that statements like "liberals are more evolved (smarter) than conservatives" insinuate you think you are better than a good portion of your fellow humans.

So I'm to accept that someone who believes that their thinking is superior really cares about the broken femurs of the world (whoever the broken bones belong to)?

Well, yes, I suppose I am hoping that you will accept it. The idea that those who want to leave the weak behind are 500,000 years less evolved is just the data of evolutionary science. I didn't make up those numbers. Furthermore, the idea that the weakest members of a society must not be left behind is the very keystone of human civilization. There is nothing more foundational than that. And therefore, if anyone (conservative or not) wants to function in a way that ignores "the broken femurs" their thinking is, by definition, less evolved than someone who does not. Maybe what you are feeling is the incongruence of your political views and your deeper desire to honor the good of the group over the good of the few at the top.... So, c'mon over here to the left... Its pretty loving over here....:attack:

I don't have the time or patience to debate superiority with someone.

I hope you're jesting...

Good ideas come from both sides of the political aisle.

I've always felt that true liberalism is the effort to tear everyone down to the lowest common denominator, rather than lifting up those who are lower. The true liberalism I see punishes those who do well and are fortunate. True liberalism claims to know better how to run my life than I do.

That's just how I see it.

Now, on the other hand, the true hard conservative wants to regulate what I watch and read and think, too. They want to keep me within the status quo.

Actually, I think I at least partly agree with you. I would word it differently though. I would say that true liberalism is the effort to value the good of the whole group, to the reasonable expense of those who do well and those who are fortunate, and to the reasonable benefit of those who do not do well are are not fortunate. If pushed too far left, it becomes communism, which clearly has not worked historically. The debate is then around the word "reasonable".

The other debate that I thought would come out of this and hasn't is a debate over who is the "broken femur". Many conservatives would argue that an unborn child is definitely one of the weakest among us, for example, but prolife views are generally more held on the right side of the isle.

vote fish for president. I have seen the light that so many other want to put out.

bagel.

;);) Ok, fishbait...maybe I'll vote for you... Let's hear your platform. Clearly you're anti-wierd national anthems. I think I'm with you on that one. What else??????

Maybe what you are feeling is the incongruence of your political views and your deeper desire to honor the good of the group over the good of the few at the top.... So, c'mon over here to the left... Its pretty loving over here....:attack:

OK so what if your neighbor is one of those ignorant conservatives? You say you are loving, but you think you are superior/better than him at the same time (more evolved)?

That's not loving. That's more hypocritical than anything. Peace loving people do not assume superiority over their fellow man.

That's putting yourself as the "few at the top". Ya know...the few enlightened ones. I don't want any part of that.

I have respect for my fellow man, regardless of political views, intelligence, wealth, poverty, race, or religion. Saying that another human being is inferior intellectually just does not smack as "loving" to me.

I'll stay right where I am.

Everyone can't be the same. BUT everyone can be able to achieve those oppurtunities. We have a great education system in alot of aspects. Is it perfect? No. Can you achieve wealth by being educated through the system we have in place? Yes.

Is everyone born just alike? No. Can we make everyone just alike? No.

It's just like ConveyorBelt. He's almost anti everything I am, but yet he is taking advantage and working hard to better himself and his family.

Truth be known when he starts earning that nice pay check he will bithc about giving a 3rd of it to the government......that's almost a 1/4 of his life he's working for the government to give everyone else that is or may be abusing or living off of the system. There is a thing called charity.

Honestly, once I graduate, I'll probably be making about the same amount of money that I was when I was managing Checkers.

The money wasn't the issue.

I wish I could say that. I could do another job, but my family's lifestyle wouldn't be the same. I struggle with that alot sometimes, well I struggle with it almost all the time. I whore myself if you will. Is it right? i dunno. Is it what I want to do? I'm divided.....Lotsa' questions I ask myself.

I miss certain aspects of it. I enjoy what I'm doing right now, cooking restaurant food, but the employees I work with suck. They can be, at times, stupid and lazy, and it affects service, and I'm just a lowly cook, so I can't do anything about it. I enjoy the restaurant business, but working for someone else doing it was killing me. And it's so time demanding.

Sometimes, I think I just want to disconnect and buy a farm and live there. No electricity. Just me and my family. Grow our own food, live off the land.
