Ok, so its been said on here that the storms are God's way of "warning" us sinners..... don't go for that theory myself..... especially with all the good that comes from them and other such events.

Think about it.

All of us that went through that last big storm have good stories about good people that reached out to help.... I say these things are not punishment for anything. They bring out the best is most people.
I made life long friends with some of those people who put their own lives on hold to travel to Mississippi to help.... and I know I am not the only one.
While working 72 hour shifts for the FD and being dog tired on the one day off I could not get anything at my house done. I went home one day just to meet the insurance guy and while there a group from the Morman Church showed up to cut the trees and clean the debris from my yard.... they had it done in less time than it took me to talk to the adjuster! One acre that you could not see the ground on before was spotless!

Yes, these things happen, not as punishment... but so that we can see Jesus in other men and women!

Any good stories out there?

I've always been taught that there are no "little" sins. Sin is sin in God's eyes. So, why would we be the only ones punished?

FE, we also had a group of mormons clean our yard. That touched me deeply!!!
Also, the men who cleared a path just so we could get down our road!!!!!
And of course you can't leave out the wonderful people who handed out water and ice on a daily basis until it was all gone!!!! THANKS TO ALL......

I was working at the hospital when Katrina hit and it really touched my heart the unselfishness I witnessed. I was really proud to be working with them.. They stayed there not knowing what was going on with their own homes and families and gave 110% to our patients.

A church group from FL came and helped out at my mother's house. They were a Godsend. Insurance paid for repairs, but there was sooo much stuff down everywhere. Hubby was working from daylight till dark and couldn't help much.
