the question is...
which one will be the best
guild wars is no pay to play, thats my favorite. but the PvE on it completely stinks. lvl 20 cap and you cant go any further. which makes the game end pretty quickly and you run out of things to do if you dont PvP. and the PvP is centered around groups.. not 1 on 1.. so either you have to be in a clan and they have to be on... or you just play the same old stuff that you've already beat.. because there isnt anything to do anymore
if there was a better medium that had no pay to play.. that would be the road to take. but looks like guild wars might be the only one to do this. maybe someone will get wise and follow their lead

$20 says Guild Wars either does expansion packs every 6 months that are $50, or starts a monthly subscription.

its going to do expansions every 6 months.. you are right
but so does every other game. the difference is.. you still pay that fee each month with every other game.. and a lot of the expansions REQUIRE you to buy them to continue leveling
with guild wars.. cap is 20.. wont be increased. and they've stated that if you dont buy the expansion. then it wont hurt you. nothing added to the expansion will give the new characters created any advantage over you (they dont get better weapons.. stuff like that)
and the expansion will be around 30 bucks
50 (game) + 30 (expansion) = 1 year = 80 bucks
50 + 15 x 12 (for monthly fee) + 30 (for expansion) = 1 year = 260 or if they dont have an expansion.. then 230 for the year
makes a big difference when you look at that monthly fee. its insane to know thats what i was doing at one point.. but never looked at it. LOL

thats what i keep saying
there is only so much PvP that you can handle playing as a group. people keep saying on the GW forums that the PvP is what this game is all about... but yet there is only two types of PvP you can play.
one is kinda like capture the castle, where you try to raid the other team's castle and kill their Leader (its a bot)
the other is a 4 team tourney.. where you are let lose and have to kill the other teams Special Mage. when you win/lose.. you get sent to the next teams arena to face them. you have some kind of time limit to win also
its really quite boring.. thats why on the beta weekends i dont play them. because all the people (like 15 groups) that are in the alpha testing get to play against you. so you actually play against teams that can play 24/7 and arent restricted to beta weekends only.
and in a beta weekend.. i can get almost every mission beat.. and i dont even play much at all on the weekend it happens.
they said that only 20% of the content is in the beta weekends though.. so i dont know. there is suppose to be a massive amount more. but in 3 days i cant get 20% covered.. so we are looking at about a month and im done? PvP wont sustain me for the rest of the 5 months.

World of Warcraft was the best MMORPG to come out in 2004. Hands down.
so you tried and didn't get in? I thought it was open.
