More on southern kindness, from the story:

Cheri Neal and her family survived the storm uninjured, but their home lost much of its roof. Well today, her friends, neighbors and members of her church pitched in to build a new roof for her and make repairs indoors. "Everything has been donated," Neal said. "We've bought one piece of material. The community and different people have donated everything, so we've not had to buy anything. We're really truly blessed," she said. Also on the scene to help out were representatives of the South Central Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross in Hattiesburg. But, except for a few cases, their assistance was not needed. "The few houses that had major damage that we've been trying to work with the families, the families are saying, we're fine, our neighbors are helping us," said Babs Faulk, manager of the Hattiesburg-based chapter. "So, it's been really interesting and heartwarming that we've had to provide very little assistance," she said. And speaking of good neighbors giving, Faulk says her office has received nearly 50-thousand dollars in donations for tsunami relief in Asia. Statewide, nearly 100-thousand dollars has been donated to the American Red Cross for that disaster. On Tuesday of next week, from the Turtle Creek Mall and on Wednesday from the Sawmill Square Mall, WDAM-TV will help raise funds for tsunami relief in two events called "Live-a-thons."
