That would be me. But you got the story wrong. It's more than a job testing, I'm the "Chief Gaming Officer" for the company. I'm the mediator between the company and the gaming community. I'm basically the project lead.
Funny how stories get mixed up after passing through several people.

Yah, it's a pretty sweet deal. Just for accuracies sake, here's the story straight from the horses mouth.
I went to QuakeCon in Dallas, TX in August of 2003 with a group of friends from Hattiesburg and Petal. This was my fourth year to attend the event and I had already worked my way up in the event staff. Plus, I was extremely active in the online gaming community and had a few connections with online organisations such as Xcast (a now-defunct gaming shoutcasting station) and The OGL (The Online Gaming League, the oldest and used-to-be most respected gaming competition site on the net).
There was a company there demoing off their site called YouPlayGames. The deal was that you could play Return to Castle Wolfenstein for cold hard cash by depositing funds into your YPG account and playing in servers that changed money between users accounts for each frag.
For example:
Everytime I frag you, $1.00 is taken from your account and I get $0.95 of it put into my account. The company would hold on to the $0.05 as a transaction fee. Everytime you frag me, $1.00 comes from my account and $0.95 goes into your account. Rinse and repeat.
Well, I met one of the guys from the company outside while on a smoke break and started up a conversation. It turns out they had a spot open on staff and were looking for people who showed interest in the company. I had an impromptu interview there during the smoke break and was asked to send in my resume / portfolio after the event.
I got back into Hattiesburg and got to work on piecing together my resume to send in. Just a few weeks later I was flown down to the island (Curacao) and began working for the company. Things were great at first, but then around January a few problems with management arose and by February the company went under.
Luckily I had made a few connections on the island during my tenure at YPG and was able to land a job starting another company for another investor that was willing to give the concept a shot. The new company is called MyGameRoom http://www.mygameroom.com , we have three of of the ten YPG employees working on the new project. We're currently hard into development of FragArcade http://www.fragarcade.com .
My position with the company is that of concept development, project lead, creative lead, and to be the gaming communities eyes and voice in the project. My official title is "Chief Gaming Officer" (awesome, eh?).
Lucky? Yeh. But it's better to be lucky than it is to be good.[/url]
