So I arrived at your site via the forums and I really couldn't tell what your site was about. Obviously I knew it was about Hattiesburg but I didn't know what or where that was. I did a google search and found that it's a city in Mississippi. I am only 2-S's and 2-I's away from you (Missouri) but am totally confused.

My suggestion is to describe your site more specifically in your header. Something like My Hattiesburg, Bringing this small Mississippi Community together" or simply "Hattiesburg, Mississippi: The Community" or something. I know those are pretty simple but just something that speaks more clearly as to what your site is all about.

good luck

PS. that Spell Checker is annoying. I'm sorry, but it is. It doesn't really serve any purpose except hindering posts. I suggest you get rid of it until you see an actual need for it.

ppss. actually, please get rid of that spell checker. it was so annoying that if i didn't know you really cared about generating posts on this site, i wouldnt have followed through with my post. sorry, but i am just try to help you build up your community and i find that thing a big hinderance to posting!!!

its a Community site.. its not really serving a purpose for people that don't know what hattiesburg, MS is. :) we aren't a national forum.. hehe. if you got to us through some other forum.. thats great! but there would have had to have been some type of interest for you to come here in the first place. this site is for people that need info about hattiesburg :) but i understand where you are coming from. once we decide to national.. we'll change that problem.. hehe.

secondly.. the spell check is for people that want it. if you dont want to spell check.. scroll down some. you DONT have to use the spell check to post. you may not have scrolled down to see the "submit" or "preview" button.

not everyone wants to use spell check, but some do.

thanks for the suggestions though! and welcome!

I realize the spellcheck is annoying if it is turned on by default. I thought I had fixed that but obviously, I haven't. So, I edited everyone's account so that it is turned off now, and I'll work on changing what is necessary to turn it off for future accounts because the changes I have already made, aren't working.
