I've got a Canon 300d. I love it.

What did you get? What kind of photography are you doing? What do you need help with. I might be able to help...

Yep the canon digital rebel. I was also looking at the nikon d70 but that one seemed too expensive.
The nikon is better quality.

I will take a lot of softball photos--mostly for the web. there are problems though

The digital rebel is the same as the 300d, right??

Anyway, what are the problems?

same yes

The camera has a problem seeing the cf card. I have to reseat it 3 or 4 times before it will recoginize the card. That the main problem.

What I love is the time to turn it on and take picture is like 2 seconds. My old kodak digitol would take 2 seconds to take the picture after pressing the shutter button--useless

Do you get an error code when the card is not recognized? if you get an error code you can look it up in the manual and see. Who makes the card anyway?

My last camera you had to wait like 4 or 5 seconds between shots. Hence the new camera.

We have the same camera!!

the cf is kingston--i have another old cf that also takes a while to be recognized

The error is "no cf card inserted"

after trying several times it will work

I did some searches for this and I can't find an answer. Will keep searching and maybe we can figure this out.

No problem-I am so busy and its such a hassle to take teh camera in for serviceing -it will take me half a day.

I don't understand why they can't include video-- i guess thats a shortcoming of slr

i think the advantages of the rebel far outweigh the ability to take 30 secons movies :)
