AP - Setting up a battle for the future of computing, engineers from IBM, Sony and Toshiba unveiled details Monday of a microprocessor they claim has the muscle of a supercomputer and can power everything from video game consoles to business computers.

Computers haven't improved very much in the past three years. This is a due change.

The entire architecture of computers needs to be rethought and reengineered. The upcoming Intel motherboard (925X Express) is a step in the right direction.

But alot of these ubercorporations allow their marketing departments to determine the release dates of new technology to increase their profits. We could be so much further ahead if open-source hardware was possible, or even feasible.
