Two "improvised explosive devices" made from "novelty-type grenades" exploded in front of the British Consulate in New York this morning, but did not cause significant damage or injuries, according to police. The grenades shattered windows and blew out a chunk of concrete in a flower box where they were planted, police said. Witnesses described hearing two loud blasts seconds apart.
