Will he be announcing a new cow plant for Lamar County? :smt078
The guy needs to go. Him and the others who ram-rodded this through the legislature. :rip:
It simply amazes me how much we're willing to let people slide by with. I like England's system where, if you screw up, you immediately resign.

Trust me... no one's ready to give him a free ride in 2007, but he has switched to the Republican Party, and IMO, he should be heard. The Lamar County GOP Chairman, last night, not so jokingly told ppl at the meeting to "be good" during Spell's presentation.
The biggest blame for the cow plant, also IMO, lies with the House Leadership, and particularly with Rep. Tommy Reynolds, whose district the cow plant was built in. At the time this was approved, Reynolds was in charge of drawing up House Districts for the 2003 and following elections. The not so subtle message was, "vote against Tommy's beef plant, and you might get drawn out of office." Take Joey Fillingane, who votes at Sumrall. I could have imagined Reynolds drawing combining the Sumrall precinct with the State Rep from Jeff Davis County or even getting really crazy and connecting Sumrall with East Hattiesburg and Percy Watson. Poltics can be a dirty game...and a lot of members didn't want to take that risk.

Just a reminder that Dr. Lester Spell's appearance in Purvis is this coming Tuesday (the 19th in Purvis) at 7:00 p.m. at the Hancock Bank Wilson Room. Aaron can this be placed on the calendar?

Thanks aaron..and sorry for being slow to respond...it looks like the fireworks at the City
council meeting will greatly overshadow Dr.Spell's visit.
