Wow, we are so honored to have you here. The legends of your greatness span the galaxies. We are humbled to be in your presence. In honor of this awesome and auspicious occasion I think Aaron should change the name of the site to Weeone'sHattiesburg.com.:smt044 :asshkr: :banghead: :bonk:

King Kong was a girl, you know.

With that in mind, "wee" sounds a lot better than "nonexistent."

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

To answer you question that you posted, once you hit 20 posts, you have to wait for the board to update your citizenship status. This can take up to one hour.

Eeeeeeexcellent. I wait upon pins and needles.

And once granted the inevitable honors of citizenship, I shall usurp control of this board and become the most powerful wee one ever! MWUHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

Thank you for the compliment on my user name. It does have a personal meaning to it. I guess I should explain.

I've read a lot of the posts here for the pass few months and really liked the passion that I saw in a lot of folks and the mostly intelligent opinions. It reminded me of my times in the Hattiesburg Jaycees, so I thought I'd register and try to participate when I had the time. I first registered as cyberjaycee but then remembered that the Jaycee newletter is called the Hubcap, so I thought that would be more appropriate.

I really haven't had a lot of time to participate here with work and kids and all the activities that me and my family are involved with.

But since I came out of my shell with this post I thought I'd bounce an idea off all of you here. I've read where a few of you said something about getting involved in our community as members of My Hattiesburg. There is a way to do that as members of the Hattiesburg Jaycees. I would guess that most of the people here are between the ages of 18 and 41 - if so then you're eligible to be a member.

I'll try to keep it short, so I'll provide a link to see what the Jaycees are about Hattiesburg Jaycees (http://www.hattiesburgjaycees.org). Basically, the Jaycees are the type of organization that takes on whatever projects they believe are best for them and for the community - there is no set "standard" platforms.

To close, I was thinking about asking the Jaycees to have a My Hattiesburg night at the next Jaycee meeting on July 21. Would anyone here be interested in something like that?

Sorry for the long post and hope I didn't step on any toes by promoting this.

Thanks again. Without trying to sound too preachy I'll finish this by saying that an organized group of people can effect a change in a community, and I'd like to urge everyone here to put your ideas into action. If you know any of the history of Hattiesburg and the Jaycees you'll know what I mean. If not, then I'd be glad to fill everyone in at a meeting. We may could even scrounge up some beers. :D

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

I would like to join but work sometimes gets in the way.. maybe you should post your next meeting on the events or post a thread in off topic inviting people to come to the jaycees next meeting. Im afraid a myhattiesburg party not many will show.
