With Mississippi's new window tinting law. The boy's peeing stickers are illegal, so some reports have said; USM stickers are illegal others have said.
People with non factory window tinting must get an inspection sticker or face a $1,000 fine.
What do you guys think about this new law?

I think it's about time really. People have limo tint on their front car windows, that's ridiculous. Now, about the stickers, I don't really agree with that, even though I didn't really get the details of that part of the law.

At the end of the law there is a part that says you have until you have to pay the fine or your court date to get the car inspected and any illegal tinting removed, shhhh.

I agree that something should have been done about the limo tint or the really dark stuff, but I wish you could see my car. It's a 4 door family car and one can see inside. A local police officer told me a couple weeks ago that I will be fine. Wrong... I went to an official testing location and failed by 3%. My windows are some of the lightest I have seen.

that does suck. I remember when I got mine done they offered to put it at 35%, and I remember going with 20% because they said that was completely legal.

So does this law just give more backbone for the 1988 tinting law of 35%, like the inspection sticker has to be displayed and a hefty fine? It's so hard to find a complete story on this.

From what I heard on the JT and Dave show, people were getting legal tint, getting a sticker, then replacing it with illegal tint and keeping the sticker. Since you have to go back every year now, this law prevents that from happening.

just think of what goes through a police officer`s mind when he approaches one of these vech. on a traffic stop or at a road block. you cannot see what is going on inside. you cannot see if a child is buckled up or not. the reason most people get the tint is b/c they don`t want others to see whats going on inside. they should bann the heavy tint: period!!!!!!! i also am unclear about the law or what to do.

i got tint on my very dangerous looking mini van because my children (3 all together) were getting blistered by the sun and so was i. i think maybe you could make a law saying roll your windows down when a cop rolls up on you. Are there any stats showing cops killed through tinted windows in MS? just curious

I couldn't afford tint so I just spray painted mine black. You think that new law will affect me?

I removed the aftermarket tint from my truck. It was just about as hard to see out of as it was to see into. Basically just got on my nerves. Most new vehicles come with glass that is treated to block UV rays anyway.

oooh oooh i know....the cops just want the tint removed so they tell what color someone is. i bet that is it.

chopper, what does color have to do with it? it makes no difference. how would you like to step into the unknown with maybe your life hanging in the balance, b/c thats what they are doing when they cannot see on the inside of a car. think about it. COLOR? get real
