This thread makes me hungry :-D

Here's one that's really easy and very portable to take anywhere.

Cheese Danish

2 cans of crescent rolls
2 8 oz. containers of cream cheese
1 cup of sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a pan roll over a can of crescent rolls. In a bowl mix together the cream cheese and sugar, blend together. Add mixture on top of rolls, then use other can of rolls on top of cream cheese. Bake for around 30 minutes, or until brown on top.

I've heard folks who added their favorite fruit to it as well.

I have a recipe request. I'm giving birth in October and I'm looking to cook some meals ahead of time and freeze them. Anybody have good recipes that do well to freeze?

Thanks!

Lynn

This is more of a dessert that you can freeze, and it could be healthy, haha. Take chocolate grahm crackers and cool whip (fat free if you wish). Spread the cool whip between two crackers and wrap the cracker in saran wrap. Put them in the freezer. It's like eating an ice cream sandwich, but just feels a little healthier.

Ok Hawk try this one!

My Dad's favorite homemade ice cream (and I HAVE made this!):

1 gallon Borden's Dutch Chocolate Milk
2 cans condensed milk
1 package York Peppermint patties (chopped)

Pour all contents in ice cream freezer and start the machine!

How's that??? I came up with one!
;) :D

Monkey you slipped the York Ice Cream in on me. I just now spotted it. We must have been posting at about the same time and I did'nt look back. I was just coming down here to tell ole usmgrad that I made some of his ice cream sandwiches and they were good. Then I spotted your desert. Mmmmm, dat sound real goood. I'm a chocoholic already and love York's. I got to try that one soon. Thanks

Glad you liked 'em Hawk, think I might have to go make some myself, now the question is if I let my wife and kids have any, hahahaha

I am dying for a smoked tuna dip like they have at Barnaby's (spelling?) in Long Beach. That stuff is awesome, and no one has to be afraid that I wouldn't still pay for the food. I eat there whenever I get the chance. That is all I have tried there... and it's awesome.

LOL Hawk, you sound just like my Dad. When my little brother and I were very young, Dad starved us for a day, and served us squirrels, saying it was chicken. After we greatfully cleaned our plates and asked for more, he roared in laughter as he told us what it really was. Growing up with him doing a lot of the cooking, there is no telling what some of the dishes consisted of. He even fixes Rattlesnake that mom and others say is good, but I absolutly draw the line there. His deer sausage is really good and he keeps us furnished with deer burger which is very good in spagetti. He keeps an index card file of his personal favorite recipes, so next time I visit, I'll swipe one to post. He really is an excellent cook. So is my husband. LOL.

cat head biscuts- put flour in mixing bowl. add 2 eggs,1 cup milk,or water,2 tablespoons of cooking oil. blend together until texture is thicker than pancake mix. add more flour or milk or water to get correct texture. grease pan. using large spoon, put dough into pan. bake @ 425 until golden brown. if you want, you can place dough on wax paper covered with flour and kneed dough before putting in pan. cat heads are great for camping. you can cook them on an open fire in a cast iron skillet with a cover. ooooh sooo goood. use lots of fresh butter, or margrin. i prefer blue ribbon cane syrup. oh. grits also.
