Assuming the City Council takes up confirmation votes on Mayor DuPree's department heads on Tuesday night, what will be the vote on controversial Police Chief David Wynn?
nonnegotiable

I believe that Bradley wants Dupree to think he is the deciding vote but he will vote as the people that elected him to vote, and wynn will be gone!

I had a good conversation with Kim Bradley over the past few days. He is totally aware of the problems with DuPree's appointments, especially Magoo-Commador, Wynn and Fiero. I have a good feeling that the right decision will be made by the city council as it deals with the people mentioned before. I am supplementing a whole lot of prayer to save the city from ruin. Get out and talk to your council members and/or friends to make sure everything is out in the open.

I'd like to know what the agenda is on Tuesday. Will this happen or not?

I feel that Mr. DuPree is using his old tactics of making others do his dirty work. He has shown a propensity to make others make the hard decisions and than let them take the heat. Seems like he wants the "responsible" members of the council to make the hard decision on Magoo-Commador, Wynn, Fiero to name a few.

Peoples, peoples, peoples. You need to get it through your heads, that Wynn is here to stay. You don't have to like it. You don't have to smile @ Wynn, or shake Wynn's hand, but you have to recognize that Wynn is going to be around for a looooooong time. Wynn don't know about quantum physics. Wynn don't know about the laws of thermodynamics. Wynn don't know about alot of things. HOWEVER, Wynn knows law enforcement. Wynn knows better than you, what you need concerning law enforcement. Sleep tight tonight. Daddy Wynn is keeping you safe. :smt023

Hi just-wynn, im bartspoon,:smt006 welcome to the site. I dont know wynn you arrived but glad to have you on board.. I look forward to you enlightening us on wynn or lose, depending on how you look at it, and his law enforcement expertise. We hope beyond hope that he does possess at least some knowledge of law enforcement, since if things continue on there present course he will be the only one left to do any policeing. In my humble opinion he doesnt have the management skills to lead a patrol boy squad at a local grammar school. But who are we to say, we are just the eye-witnesses to the greatest exodus of people (police officers) since the Jews left Egypt. But you have the perfect place to list his attributes. So the floor is yours, gives us just a few.

Wynn - welcome I know you will do a FAIRLY good job and you will stay on the BAUGH!
http://www.myhattiesburg.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifbartspoon, that was a great comeback to just-wynn. I love it. Sorry but I feel we are in a no-wynn situation. Either way this voting goes by the council I think we will not be happy with his picks he has lined up for chief:smt022 . Good luck to all citizens of Hattiesburg because I don't see things getting any better in the next four years. Hope Kim has a lot of the things god gave men and not women. Gee, I thought I was very appropriate speaking on that line-ha hahttp://www.myhattiesburg.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif. Pray for our city.

All right, myhattiesburg folks... where were you guys?!?!?!?
There was a packed house at tonight's meeting, but no one wearing any myhattiesburg stuff. There were a few pro Wynn, some anti-Wynn, and one really upset lady about Comcast not reinstating her cable after Hurricane Dennis and she couldn't understand why, but she said that she owed them money.
WDAM, the HA, and The Indy were there... but didn't see anyone from here...
However, something interesting... Melissa Massengil, DuPree's PR person, GAVE "Reporting from downtown" John Brown, WDAM reporter, a GREAT BIG HUG before the meeting!
We need everyone who can possibly be there to stop this CRAP from happening.

Hey, wait a minute!!! Where have I seen that picture before??? I think it was in the Independent and only one person was there when the photo was taken!!! No, it looks like it might have been scanned!!! (Pretty sloppy job, though.) Wynn-dex you've got a lot of explaining to do!!!!

Sir Mick . . .you've obviously not been around when Nicki Maute Davis gives Dupree a big wet sloppy kiss on the cheek every time they see each other. He will even stop talking to people and say, "Hang on a minute, I haven't gotten my hug from Nikki yet."
stinks, doesn't it???

Sir Mickey:
Were any of DuPree's henchmen present? Just curious if he hides behind them in public also!

Actually, besides Melissa, his boss WAS there... The Rev. Fairley was just outside the doorway... through the entire meeting... directly across from DuPree...
Melissa left the room and whispered with Fairley. Another funny thing was that some man was praising Wynn and then said the police were in his neighborhood too much... what would this guy be wanting to do with no cops around? huh?

Well, he peaked around a little bit... he stayed behind the door, though... but could be seen easily.
His "hot air balloon" was possibly parked out front. I wish I knew what he drives... but a new Cadillac was parked in the alley between City Hall and the other building... no parking there, so I assume it was Fairley's car since he runs this city.

You probably didn't see any myhattiesburg folks because I don't have the t-shirts yet, but I doubt anyone would wear them to a city council meeting anyway. But did anything get voted on?
Tully Mars

I agree with Aaron, the goings-on of Fairley, etc are secondary to what was actually accomplished at the meeting. What specific issues were voted on?
Sir Mickey Mouse
07-20-2005, 11:58 AM
Well, see, that's the thing... once they got finished listening to people complain or praise stuff, they voted on so much in like 10 minutes. There were like 20 things on one part of the agenda, someone read it, and they approved... then one section with about another 10 or so got taken as a whole and they approved that too. I found out the Monday night agenda setting meetings are where you find out about what's going on... if you just go to the council meeting, you won't learn anything. Seriously, there was a lot of action taken, we just don't know exactly what.

there should be some kind of public minutes somewhere of what got voted on and approved.
Sir Mickey Mouse
07-20-2005, 12:16 PM
I have a copy of the agenda... they were on the table for anyone to pick up. But, it's all in technical writing and doesn't really say what they are doing for the average citizen. Also, prices, contractors, etc. are not included in a lot of the agenda items. But, I am sure you are correct in there being minutes at city hall that any citizen could go see.

The agenda is generally posted on the bulletin board just across the hall from the entrance to the council room.

They had copies of the agenda on the table for anyone to pick up.
The agenda doesn't help much, though.

Yeah I was there too...
So you agree that we didn't really learn much detail about the actions?
I did find the statement funny by the lady who lost cable service during Dennis though.
