• Project: Operation Iraqi Education

• Objective: To help the Mississippi National Guard’s
198th Armor rebuild an Iraqi school in Najaf

• When: The Operation Iraqi Education kickoff will be
Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. The project will
conclude Aug. 11

• Where: The Jaycee building at 206 Hutchinson Ave.

• Details: Two Hattiesburg Jaycees, Capt. William
Walley and 1st Lt. Jeremy Allen, are in this unit, so
the Jaycees are taking great pride in helping with the
success of this project. The Jaycees will collect
school supplies for the Iraqi children. Chalk, paper,
pens, pencils, crayons, etc., will then be sent to
Iraq for the soldiers to distribute.

Anyone interested in helping with Operation Iraqi
Education is invited to assist us in making this
project a success.

You are invited to join the Hattiesburg Jaycees for a special presentation by guest speaker Gen. Buford Blount at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 at the Jaycee Building at 206 Hutchinson Ave.

The event is part of an ongoing project called Operation Iraqi Education. The Jaycees organized this event to help Mississippi National Guard troops raise supplies for a school in Najaf, Iraq. Donations of school supplies are welcome.

The event is free and everyone is welcome.

As another note on this event, it is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. I'd like for a bunch of you MyHattiesburgers to show up, but you don't have to come as MyHattiesburgers but as concerned citizens. No one will know the difference. :)

You're also welcome to pm me if you like, about this or any other Jaycee matter. My name is Billy Horton and we'd like to see a bunch of you become Jaycee members soon! If you're too old (like me :smt022 ) you can still become an associate member.

For those of us that can't make it in person to donate supplies, are you accepting monetary donations?
