I’ve tried to keep my silence, but now feel that I must speak
When unadulterated lies are told on the Reverand, I always turned the other cheek.
Personal attacks on brother Fairley, have been made for the very last time.
Sit back you thieves and liars, and let the Reverand drop a dime.
Brother Fairley is a true believer, a man who reads the good book each day.
Never would he stoop to talk to another woman, much less in bed he would lay.
I am tempted to assemble the deacons, and pray that you all be castigated
Unless each one of you posters, apologize and these lies be abated.

Rev,
Enough is Enough!! I give you credit you can rhyme better than Jesse
but i fear storm clouds are approaching and your deacons meeting
may be a wash. I will pray for you and hope the blood will wash away your sins.

Peoples. Wynn knows all about "clean living". Wynn knows that there ain't nothing but clean living going on @ the Dupree and Fairly residents. When you look under the sheets, ain't nobody there 'cepts them that are supposed to be. Worry about who (or what) is under your own bed sheets and stay out of the bed sheets of others. Daddy Wynn would love to sit down and teach you all some ethics one of these days. :smt075

I’ve waited patiently by my computer, for the apologies to all trickle in,
I was optimistic that all of you posters, would turn away from your evil and sin.
The audacity to slander Rev. Failey, was more than the Reverand could stand
To sit there and watch the rumors spreading, on one giant of a man.
Come on Aaron and Colin, Tully, Hubbarrister and Hubcity man
You should all get on your knees and repent, from the flames of hate you have fanned.

Reverand: Are you serious? [re "Rev" Fairley] Surely not! But if you are, shame & disgrace upon you for stating such damnable lies!...I say: Damn your lies to hell--from whence they came, and I pray you "extra time" in purgatory [that's NOT hell but purging penance for Christians guilty of serious unrepented--and therefore unforgiven--sin] for your crimes against these innocent ones...
(How's that for a brother righteously chastising another brother?)

HubCityMan it is very apparent, you are deranged and have gotten out of hand.
Your ramblings seem like an irate woman, or maybe those of an insane man.
I suggest that you look in the yellow pages, and a good psychiatrist is what You should find.
Because it doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist or Brain Surgeon, to see that you’ve lost your damn mind.
What lies have I told on this forum, or mistruths that would warrant your wrath?
If you were a child of the Reverand, I get soap and give your mouth a long bath.
You speak of extra time in purgatory, and that all of my lies are a shame.
Well tonight at the next deacons meeting, on the prayer list we will erase your name.

Now Reverend, when you feel the urge to raise a fuss
You should know full well the need not to cuss
To follow the good Lord's righteous path
you know he teaches to be slow to wrath
so put you anger on the back shelf
do good and love your neighbor as yourself
Jesus told us to forgive our trespassers seventy times seven
Because our treasure will be in the Kingdom of Heaven

Person, person, person. Wynn thinks someone needs to take a few lessons in "satire", "emotional restraint" and "self-righteouness". Purgatory and the Rev? Are you for serious?!?! It's like Oil and Water, Ann Coulter and Ted Kennedy, Democrats and Republicans, USM and Basketball, and seemingly HCM and Common Sense. These things just don't mix. Let go of what you have ahold of in your pocket and hold your tongue instead. Sit back and Enjoy the lyrical mastery of the Rev. :smt075

The night out against crime, is being planned as we speak,
Hotdogs will be cooking with little children playing in the street.
Now the reference to a Crack Party, has hurt the Reverands feelings down to the core.
My neighborhood has cleaned up it’s act, and drug dealers thrive there no more.
Chief Wynn is cleaning up this city, from thievery, drugs and auto break-in’s.
And now its time to give the Chief, a salary raise and awards to now begin.

Ole Reverend says drug dealers are thriving no more
Maybe it's because Sheriff Danny's boys are shutting the door
On I-59 his officers make bust after bust
While the drug dealers from New Orleans and Mexico are biting the dust
Sheriff Rigel is yet another of Hattiesburg's former best
Who's gone to Lamar County to find a new nest
Instead of giving Chief Wynn a good healthy raise
The Council should send him packing and get HPD out of its malaise

Thanks...I probably put more time and thought into what few poems I post on here...than any of my other posts. And, it was good to say some nice things about my friend Sheriff Rigel, who is doing an outstanding job in Lamar County.

You've got to be kidding. Danny is doing the best that he can, bu even he said on WDAM that they are not even scratching the surface of drug trafficing. I would imagine they get less than 5% of all of the drugs passing through here, if that.

I have noticed over the past two weeks that the HPD has been on 59 between 98 and Hwy 11 (Veterans Blvd) exits everday always with people stopped and pretty sure they were doing drug busts. Seems like they were pulling over a lot of out of state people and folks with no tags. Have seen some pretty sharp autos on the side of the road as well appearing to be waiting tow.

all right, my comment was made partly in jest at the Reverend, but over the past year or so, we have seen larger drug busts made by the Lamar County SD than any neighboring agency or than that of any of Sheriff Rigel's predecessors (no disrespect to my friend Sheriff Breazeale). Barring setting up a roadblock with a drug sniffing dog at every entry into Lamar County, which would create both resource and constitutional issues, I don't think you could ever stop all drugs that are coming into an area, but given those constraints, Sheriff Rigel's department is doing a beyond commendable job.

come on, hawk, if I've established nothing else in the time I've posted on here, it is that I call them as I see them. If I don't like an action, I'll call the perpetrator out, if I do, I'll laud them. The fact is, I didn't vote for Rigel in the Republican primary in '03 (there were several good candidates, including Rigel, but I wanted someone who'd been in the department -- but I didn't campaign for any candidate in that primary), but after he won the primary, I got behind him, and have been very well satisfied with his performance as sheriff. I see no reason I wouldn't vote for him in '07.
No public official is perfect in the job he/she does. If the performance and results of an official falls below what the public should demand, I would want that official disposed of in the next primary election. I've spoken of a couple that fit that bill. The ones who are doing well (which in Lamar County, I consider to be the vast majority), I'll speak up for.

In responce to the article that noway reported to us.(thanks noway i dont get the HA anymore and i appreciate your keeping me in the know, when everynow and then something pertaining to our conserns show up in that worthless rag)
Back in the old days, the late 60's, I had long hair. And long haired guys were the usual suspects to law enforcement when it came to certain rebellous anti-establishment behavior. Therefore i was pulled over on a regular basis. And if you lived in this town at that time and you had long hair you understand exactly what a police state we lived under. It was harrass frist and ask questions last. But i always understood that if you possess the accouterment's of a certain group under suspicion, then you may have to suffer under the "guilt by association" tag. Im not saying it was right or that it was not inconvenient, im just saying it went along with the look. I did not mind the being stopped as much as I minded the treatment by the officers. If they were polite and told me to have a nice day, i never really minded, I was just glad I was not found doing anything wrong and to be on my merry way. I now have short hair but drive a older model bmw that I am careful not to put fancy wheels on because it would look like the pimp car that drug dealers drive. The one you see in all the movies. So my point is that profiling is not limited to just minority's, it is a tool crime fighters use across the board. And a very useful one im sure. And I have been a victim of that form of investigation on many occasions back in the good ole days. But in my humble opinion I dont mind the inconvenience, if the officer's motive is trying to make our city safer, as long as he is polite, and thanks me for my cooperation, calls me mr., and tells me to have a nice day. But if he is rude and abusive, and i have done nothing wrong, then my old anti-establishment, distrust for authority, and righteous indignation rage comes roaring out. And like mr. farris, my usual serene and peaceful law abiding world turns into a nightmare. A little polite, professional behavior on the part of the officer can make a world of difference to the one who is being profiled.

Bartspoon, since you stated that you no longer read the HA, just thought you would also want to know that the Farris arrest finally made their front-page headline on Monday 25 July in a long and quite comprehensive article by Janet Braswell. (Rumor was that there was a significant "back room" debate within HA as to whether or not that story would actually run, but it's notable that it eventually was published prominently.)

Thank you hub city man.. so janet braswell is still there.. you know she has been there quite a while and I bet she knows a lot about what is going on everywhere. The HA is just like HPD its all about the top. who is in the leadership role. And that leader's ablility or lack of, is what filters into the paper. If the person at the top is saying dont be afraid to dig up the truth and let the chips fall where they may, just be fair and unbias, that paper would not only be more valuble to the community as a source of truth, but there would be the added dollar value in increased circulation, which translates to more advertising. Can someone tell me who calls the shots at the HA. Are they local or does it come form corp. hq.
