My wife and I had a little get together tonight to mourn the demise of our 30s. She hit 40 last month and I do at the end of this month. We had fried chicken, green beans, mashed taters and gravy, pork, cajun, and maple sausage (from Little Butcher Shop ) on the grill, lots of beer and wine all topped of with a good homemade strawberry shortcake with lots of cool whip. Good food, good drink, good friends...you can't ask for much more than that.

With all that beer and wine, Tully, I hope you saved some cool whip!

Last night we had Conestoga and tonight....meatloaf-can't be high class everyday.
Last night we had Conestoga and tonight....meatloaf-can't be high class everyday.
Who needs high class when you can have some good ol' meatloaf? Especially if you have mashed potatoes to go with it! :)
I think we're going to throw something on the grill tonight but not sure. Hubby's mowing right now; we'll see what he wants to do when he's done.
Hey, thanks for the idea!!! I think I'll make some individual meatloafs and grill 'em. :)
(meatloafs...is that right? meatloaves?)
Honey

Hey Guru,
What is 'RAWKS?' I just don't know that word but I'm thinking maybe it's a good thing.
It think meatloaves but don't ask me. I seem to be the grim reaper of threads. Now why would you think that? -loafs or -loaves, sure sounds good. :) Hubby went to the store and bought pork steak instead, so we'll be having that along with baked sweet potatoes and spinach. It's all good.
And yes we had mashed potatoes. My son just got home from spending summer overseas and he is eating everything from the good ole south. And enjoying every single bite, I bet! :smt023
It's a very good thing.
You rock versus you rawk! is kind of like the difference in a drink versus a drank or being nude versus TAKIN' NEKKID!

We had po-boys from Penn's. I had catfish, the wife had shrimp. The only complaint I have is the size of the bread. It is hard to keep the thing together because there is so much on it. Larger bread would help.

a really good, really fresh pizza that got to me in about 20 minutes from online order to my door (yes I tipped the girl) -- it's about 8:45 pm and I'm eating something that involves green peppers. I have a feeling that may be a mistake.

My favorite meal of all time is my mothers fired pork chops, black eyed peas, Macaroni and cheese, with her award winning corn bread. Of course, she knows this, and since I only go home once or twice a year, that's the meal she fixes. I don't complain. GO MOM.
