I'd have been at citygirl's house, but Mom made wonderful homemade vegetable beef soup "for the last time this year" in honor of the cold snap. But gosh, I do love green beans with new potatoes and fried-down corn.

However, I was the one who taught her how to make it. I'll have to dig up the recipe.

I took some chicken breasts, sliced the fat off them, sliced them into thin strips, took out my special seasonings and battered them, fried them up.
Then took a fresh red bell pepper, cut it up, put it into a pan with rasberry, butter, garlic, and some lemon pepper seasoning (with a cup of water of course). got it to a boil, then put the lid on for 3 minutes.
Took some hoagie bread, and put alittle butter on it, and got them warm. Then put fried chicken strips on one side, satueed bell pepper and cheese on the other side for a wonderful sandwich for me and the mrs. nombre.

A couple of weeks ago I oven-roasted a big package of chicken thighs (don't care for the white meat). Put em in the freezer. Tonight, thawed some out, picked the meat off the bones and made up a package of some pasta & veggie stuff. Mixed with chicken. Not bad. Enough for tomorrow. I get bored cooking for myself.

Like what kind of polenta are you talking about? You want the creamy stuff...or the firmer stuff that you fry or grill?

I had some rotisseried(sp) chicken and brussel sprouts with NO butter. I guess I need to quit eating completely. I knew giving up smoking would do me just as much harm as good. My arteries may stay open but if I put on much more weight I am going to need liposuction. I used to eat 1 meal a day and 1 candy bar before bed. Now I eat dinner and then it is on from there-more of this and that and oh heck yeah-lets eat a bunch of candy-DANG! Now I have a food addiction.
