Its hard for me to believe that USM should be responsible for this. Kids drink on campus its all part of the college life. Was he forced to drink?

I agree, the university should not be held liable for what happened.

I guess since the Applebee's incident, we'll start seeing a lot more of this. People want to blame everyone else for their ignunt actions.

Apparently, she's trying to stop drinking in fraternities on college campuses nationwide. Umm, yeah.

Yeah Hawk that struck me too...he's a 25 year old alumnus...a hazing incident I might understand..but this is just a little crazy.

USM just let the guys use the house to prepare for fall recruitment- they should not be a defendant in this matter, however, becuase it was on USM property, the lawyer for the family is being careful. The real party is the Fraternity. I have been involved with the greek system at USM since I was in college. The amount of parties and the kind of parties that went on when I was in school has significantly decreased over the past 10 years. Trust me that USM has cracked down on the parties and the drinking. Something like this should not have happened, but the University is not responsible for this, if anyone it is the Fraternity. The Fraternity has a lease with USM for thier house- That is the connection with USM.
